The town of Kusadasi is a great place to visit with many attractions close by. The hotel Korumar is classed as a 5 star but it leaves a lot to be desired. If you are happy eating in a cigarette smoke filled restuarant then this is the place for you. The same goes for all the seating areas and bars throughout the hotel, you just can't escape the disgusting smell of cigarettes and cigars.
The tiny beach is reached by steep and badly maintained steps but is a very pleasant place to spend an hour or two sunbathing. The hotel beach bar serves drinks and snacks that are nothing to write home about but will seriously dent your wallet. Bacardi and coke will set you back around 8.5 million lire (2.1m = £1).
The rooms are fine and very clean but no comfortable chairs to relax in other than the usual plastic variety you can find on any balcony, 2 star and upwards. The bathrooms are excellent.
Food wise - a choice of a lamb dish, a chicken dish and a fish dish each evening together with a superb salad and sweet choice. Breakfast was unspectacular but OK.
Of coarse you will have the option of eating a la carte in the fish restaurant, we had our introduction meeting in there, it was full of flies so we decided to give it a miss.
Entertainment wise a small piano bar and TV room were all they had to offer so a trip on the Dolmus each evening in to Kusadasi was a great way of getting some fresh air into our lungs.
The Turkish bath in the hotel was over priced and not very good, go into town and use the real thing for better value and experiance. The indoor pool was also an expensive option.
This review may sound like a good old moan but the simple truth is this is a lower end 4 star hotel posing as a 5 star. I am not a serial moaner, check out my other reviews!
The saving grace for the Korumar was the staff, our favourite waiter, Serdar was a real breath of fresh air, and the reception staff were extremely helpful.
Although Early October is not exactly summer season the hotel was full and is so throughout the year. Maybe in the summer eating outside is an option and the entertainment is performed poolside, was it better, I don't think I will be returning to find out!!!

A very large hotel about a 15 minute walk into the town centre. The rooms are large with good air conditioning. The pool area is very large and overlooks the bay but in peak season sunbeds were at a premium. The food was very good with a large selection. The only thing that let this hotel down was the standard of service which at busy times could be very slow and not what you would expect at a 5* hotel. I think that was mainly due to the large size of the hotel and a shortage of staff.
