Written by Derek Ford on 24 Jun 2008 about a trip in Sep 2003.
Trip was for a couple on holiday. Derek Ford would definitely visit again.

Lambi attractions

"Lambi" is a little known suburb of "Kos Town" 15 - 20 minutes walk from the town proper without actually leaving it.
The route mainly follows the coast, and lovely long sandy beaches are adjacent to the road.
Lambi is much quieter than Kos town itself, having no real "night - life" other than Taverna's and bars, and tends to appeal to families with young children, and couples, rather than the "Britts Abroad for Booze" brigade. (They are better catered for in "Kardamena" which is another story).
There are a few "good" hotels in Lambi (we stayed in Hotel "Laura" every September for 10 years) but very few shops, other than a few "gift" shops. Most of your "shopping" will be in the "town" proper, where you will be spoilt for choice.

Most of Lambi (hotels, restaurants, bars, etc.) sits along a wide, straight, 1 mile stretch of main road which does a very sharp left turn at the corner of the island and heads towards the nearby resort of "Tingaki". Car, Moped, and bicycle hire are all available in Lambi itself without having to go into the main part of town.
Downside: - Occasionally, later in the evening, the wide straight road becomes an attraction for local youths on motorcycles doing their "showing off" thing. This is not "every" evening, and apart from the extra noise from their bikes, not really a problem. Unfortunately, later in the year (early October) the atmosphere does become very damp making it less suitable for asthmatics.
Overall: - Lovely !
