Landmark Bangkok: Great base for Bangkok by Neil Treliving |

Stayed here for three nights on the Landmark Club Floor. Very nice as you get comp drinks and breakfast. The Hunters bar on basement floor is a good place to get a drink in the evening with a live band. I recommend going out at night over the road to one of the street bars for a great atmosphere. If you want a suit made go a few doors up to Majestic Tailors, its probably the best in Bangkok and they also come over from Thailand to the UK frequently to show new fabrics etc..
Taxi rank at hotel makes it easy to get round the city if you dont fancy the Skytrain.
The hotel represents very good value for money compared to English prices.

The Lankmark is a wonderfulhotel. The rooms were nice, the staff helpful. They had a lovely pool. Its in the ideal location close to a sky train station making it easy to get around bangkok.
A great english themed pub on the ground fllor. Great if you dont get on with the thai food
there is also a great restaurant called cabbages and condoms just down the road.
Would recomend it. a great 4* hotel and at a more than reasonable price

Landmark Bangkok: Centrally located on Sukhumevit Road and dead close to Skytrain by Richard Hann |

I stayed here with my girlfreind and father in May 2005. Having stayed previously at the Amari Atrium (too off the beaten track) and Pinnacle Lumphini ( also off the beaten track but in another direction).
The hotel is smack bang on Sukhumevit Road and right next to the skytrain station, so getting about is no problem. From here, if you want to get to Siam Square for some Western Stodge food, you are only 5 minutes amd a couple of train stops away. A certain guidebook says it is a bit noisey, we did not find this to be the case. The pool and sundeck are not spectacular, but nice. The staff were freindly. You have got some resonable eateries within walking distance, both more expensive and also obscenely cheap.
You are not too far from Charlies Bar, on foot, if you want to drink beer and see the street scenery. They do smoking and non smoking rooms. There was a nice plate of fruit there when we arrived ( if that sort of thing impresses you), the room was well maintained and the maids were spot on.
The hotel obvously gets a lot of short stay- stop overs, all reasonably well healed.
I would definately use again, it is a safe bet, in a good location.
