Overall the hotel was very clean. Our rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. The hotel staff were very helpful. Entertainment every night which was excellent. When we arrived there was no cot in our room but this was sorted within 30 mins of arriving. Brillant service. The food had a great range. Even my 15 month son loved it. The could of done with more ramps. The pool was extremly safe for kids. Very warm. Lots of leaflet with things to do around the hotel.

Las Palomas: Las Palomas Hotel by Charlene Laffey |
| Posted 01 August 2005 about a visit in June 2005 | Overall rating: 7.8 |
Stayed in the Las Palomas Hotel for 2 weeks from 16/07/05. The hotel is quite basic. Rooms have recently been redecorated and new bathrooms. They are now quite modern.
Very clean - maid service every day, clean towels every day. Linen change every 2-3 days.
Air conditioning was recently installed - beware as it has a mind of it's own. Ours just decided to break down every couple of days. It's torture at night without it. We also had problems in the 2nd week as the air conditioning was playing up - we had a leak in the cupboard below A.C unit (wardrope). My husbands clothes got soaked. Once reported to reception they got someone up to fix it straight away. Although, other people we'd met on the holiday said they'd reported the same problem and reception staff were quite cheeky saying that they get up to 30 complaints a day about air conditioning and they can't fix them all on the same day etc. We didn't experience any problems like that though!
We were on half board basis. Food OK. Pretty much same every night which gets a bit much. Cheap enough to eat out though! Breakfast isn't up to much if you don't like fried egg or scrambled egg.
There is a wee place outside the hotel and to the left called "The Mermaid". They do a great full english breakfast for 4 euros. Or a big breakfast for 5.50 euros. Tasty!!
The hotel is in quite a good location. About 5-10 min walk from the beach (down to left) and about 10 min walk from San Miguel Street which is the main street (up to the right).
I was a bit anxious going to the hotel after reviews I'd read about it before I went but we don't really have any complaints apart from the air conditioning!

Las Palomas: Refit by John Elliott |
| Posted 25 March 2005 about a visit in February 2005 | |
I am staying in the hotel Las palomas in June 2005 so I called on 10th March 2005 to see what it was like.
I found that the hotel was closed. I spoke to a member of staff who told me that the hotel was having a refit. The bedrooms were all being upgraded and air conditioning added.
There was extensive work being carried out on the bedrooms which could be viewed from the street.

Stayed in the self catering block of the hotel. Could not fault the accomodation - clean, tidy, well equiped. Just short stroll to beach and surrounded by many restaurants.
Ideal base for holiday.
