The Lesse apartments are situated about 20 mins from Hanioti main square. There is a back gate entrance but be careful sometimes this is locked at night which means a detour.
Essentially the apartments are grouped in 3 blocks centred around the pool area. Blocks A, B & C we were in block C which tends to be very dark and bearing in mind the awful weather we had it was also very cold. So I recommend you get A or B.
The apartments are very basic and I suppose if you get good weather then there OK. However, if the weather is dreadful gives you the opportunity to “enjoy” the facilities. They are not nice places to be cooped up in. Cleaning is OK.
Reception area is quite good and all the staff are helpful enough. Pool area is very good plenty of sun loungers (not that we needed them sic). Bar snacks are good. Evening meal is a 10 euro buffet all you can eat type of thing – sadly it’s a demonstration of mass catering at its worst. Breakfast we never tried so can’t comment. There are some extras you pay for safe, tv remote control and the staff are at pains to tell you not to lose them or the key for which you will be billed. So you do get a bit of a lecturing to on arrival.
There is an on site shop little bit more expensive that supermarkets and small range of goods so only use in emergency. You can book tours, car hire through hotel they all seem to be same price. However be wary of booking through rep they do cost considerably more. The first choice rep well it’s the end of the season so he couldn’t really be bothered he was busy trying to organize his winter job. To be fair I asked some of the other holiday makers and they disagreed with me saying he had been fairly disinterested probably since the start of the year perhaps he didn’t like the place.
Anyway Hanioti itself got the usual taverns gift shops etc which are pretty much average. Eating and drinking is no longer cheap in fact the UK is probably cheaper, but if you avoid the square and stay on the side streets you can find more reasonable places e.g. Stones, The Tavern, My Bar. Entertainment in the taverns NIL apart from big screen TV’s showing football matches and music videos so boring. Once again if you don’t get the sunny weather you can really take time to see the resort and frankly it’s grubby. Tourists going to this area apart from the Greek people from Thessalonica in August tend to be coming from Eastern Europe Serbs, Russians, and Bulgarians etc. therefore the actual resort is starting to favour and cater for these groupings. Unfortunately and this is a first for me I cant recommend either the hotel or resort stick to the Islands.

We have just booked our 2006 holiday to the Lesse hotel Hanioti, and we are already counting down the months. We found in 2005 our little piece of paradise here, the staff were extreamly efficent, helpfull and polite, the beaches were clean, safe and the water was crystal clear, with water sports available all day.
The clean and very safe town center was a hive of activity, offering a range of shops and restuarants to suit every pocket, and it was within easy walking distance of the hotel. The hotel offered everything that you would need, i.e comfort, style, hospitality second to none, well equipted rooms, with lovely balconies to sit and chill out on with a glass of something cool after a lovely da, before the evening meal etc.
This family run hotel, with its relaxed, layed back, friendly enviroment, where nothing is to much trouble, is a little piece of unspoilt paradise that we cant wait to re-visit, so watch out John the barman WE ARE COMING BACK!
Get the cocktails and dartboard ready!! Cant wait.

Brilliant hotel. Superb service from the staff, rooms lovely, the pool area is amazing, and they do brilliant cheese and ham toasties at the poolside bar. The walls are a little thin in the rooms so there is no listening to music when you come in on a night time and the stairs leading up to the reception can be very slippy when it rains (my boyfriend almost broke his back) but apart from those two tiny niggles I cannot fault the Lesse on anything. Liked it so much we're going back in September for two weeks this time!
