After reading other reviews i was worried about the steps so when booking i asked for a room as low as possible. We got room w13 which had 39 steps, but others had anywhere up to 190 steps. The resort is too far out of Fethiye to walk so a £13 return taxi ride is the best alternative as they will pick you up from where you want at the time you want to return you to the resort. There are taxi`s outside of reception most of the time with the letoonia logo on the side windows use these and agree a price first. The food is fantastic lots of choice for all meals. We used the moonlight restaurant for dinner as it had the most spectacular views. The first night we had the sun setting over the sea and mountains then the moon rising over the other mountains to the east it was the perfect way to start a fantastic holiday. The dolphin beach fish restuarant and the kebab restuarants are must do's(did not try the sushi restuarant). The nightly shows in the amphitheatre are fantastic and very professional go see the show called jazz(i was dragged up on stage for this one) very funny. If you mant to go to a place that has it all go to LETOONIA.

Dolphin Beach with sail boats in the foreground - free lessons!

Main Hotel Block and pool.

First of all the bad points about this resort ('cos that's what it is).

1. The rooms in the 'bungalows' are small, only really suitable for 2 adults and they aren't really bungalows but semis with an en-suite room up and down.
2. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the rooms so if that's important take a kettle or a flask.

Now the obvious for those who don't read the brochures or check it out on the net properly - it is built on a HILLY peninsular and a HILLSIDE!!! Officially there are no more than 61 steps to any apartment but I guess it depends where you start counting as there are some ramps/slopes as well. Our apartment in 'J' block actually had 6 steps going down. If you have any sort of mobility difficulty stay in the hotel block. There is a 'train' that goes up and down the complex fairly regularly, you just hail it to stop.

The good points are far too many to mention, so just a few for now.
1. The staff are brilliant and there are a LOT of them.
2. The whole place is spotless.
3. Rooms are cleaned daily.
4. There is a huge variety of places to eat and drink and a huge variety of food but if you want beans on toast or roast beef stay at home.
5. The scenery is amazing, some of the 'bungalows' are totally bedecked with vines/creepers which makes them a bit dark, some people moaned about this (Brits of course), what is the matter with these people??
6. There is a free shuttle boat to Fethiye for most of the day - get there early (especially on Tuesday - Fethiye Market Day) as if it's full it leaves! You wouldn't believe how far it is by taxi. Take your Club Letoonia 'passport' or you won't get back in either on the boat or by taxi.
7. It is safe for kids but there are no lifeguards on any of the three main beaches or at the pools.

E-mail me if you want to know anything else - I could go on forever.

I've posted a couple of pics - there are more at http://www.johntucker.dsl.pipex.com/letoonia.htm.

I arrived this september. Warning JMC told me it was suitable for disabled and those with walking problems this is a lie. The rep there had too book me into the hotel as the villas where imposabled to get to. This is a great place the staff are very helpful but please bare in mind my warning if you have mobility problems or have children in buggies theres a lot of walking and loads of steps.

Letoonia: Will we have to walk up loads of steps?
10 Oct 2008 by Jenny Bennett
My husband and I are booked into a bungalow 1a next week. We have read so many frightful reviews are wondering if we have done the right thing. My husband has a bad back and walking up loads of steps is out of the question. We have tried to get our room changed to the hotel, but no-one has got back to us. Are we making a big mistake going to this supposed 5 star hotel for a week? Help.
