Liberty: Good value but showing its age by Steve Banthorpe |
| Posted 03 February 2004 | |
Visited from 19/01/04 to 26/01/04. This is third year running and it needed refurbishing three years ago and still does! Having said that, its is good basic one bedroomed accommodation, in a central position. We noticed that the pool area has been totally redone this year. A new kiddies pool has been added and astro turf all around provides a safe surface for the kids. We only paid £154 each for our week and this was very good value.
If you go to any of the Canary Islands in the winter its worth while packing a small fan heater to take the chill off the room during the evenings and nights.

Liberty: Liberty Apartments by Jade |
| Posted 03 December 2002 | |
The apartments are very basic but very clean. All the rooms are the same, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds, a long sofa for a third person in the living area, a small kitchenette and a bathroom. There's also a pay and watch TV with some Sky movie and sports channels.
Like everyone else has said, try and get a room at the back of the hotel as this will probably be much quieter than the rooms at the front that overlook the busy main road. However, if you do get one of the rooms at the front of the hotel you'll get more sun as it sets onto these rooms.
The pool area is nice and clean and the lady who works behing the pool bar is friendly. We never really went into the disco underneath the hotel as it was always empty, then again it was November.
They are in a good location, 2 mins from Yumbo, 5 mins from Gran Chapparel and about 10 mins walk to Kasbah. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away.
Overall, nice apartments but very basic, close to the heart of Les Ingles.

Liberty Reservations |
Liberty: Liberty Oct. 2002: by Tania Page |

We've just returned from 2 weeks in Playa del Ingles where we stayed at the "Liberty Apartments" on Avenida Tirajana.
Since there was very little information about them on either this site or any other before we went, I thought it might be usefull to add this short run-down about them:
They are just 2 mins. walk from the Yumbo just to the North of "The Riu Don Miguel". 5 mins from Gran Chapparal.
One Block, 2 Lifts, 2 Bars, [Pool & Disco], 2 mini-marts. The apartments are Basic, [particularly the kitchenettes] but very clean and well appointed.
The Apartments are ranged on both sides of the block, [Pool & Road], it's advisable to secure a Pool-side apartment if at all possible. They are quieter at night and get the Morning Sun.
They comprise sitting room, TV, [BBC World, Sky Films, Euro Sport, CNN], in all rooms, single bedroom and bathroom, [bath, shower, bidet, toilet], plenty of hot water.
The apartments are serviced 5 times a week, towels changed every day. Beds are changed weekly.
The Staff are superb, especially Reception. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They, [the receptionists], all speak good English.
I must also say that the "First Choice" reps., although I usually have very little to do with them, [we always arrange our own transfers etc.], were very charming and helpfull.
There was one fly in the ointment: One of our party used the ATM in the Deutchesbank in the Liberty Block.
BAD MISTAKE!!! It "ate" his card which he immediately stopped. When he went into the Bank the following morning they told him his card was not in the machine and were less than interested and VERY unhelpfull.
The ensueing "red-tape" with the Police and other officials took a considerable amount of time out of his holiday.
PLEASE, if you have to use an A.T.M. use it during Banking hours and TAKE A FRIEND WITH YOU in case!!
