That was the best holiday spent. The beauty of the territory, the comfort and facilities, cleanliness of rooms, food quality and variety, animation and other entertainment programs surely compensated my possible boredom of traveling alone. I am very happy with practically anything and will be back there next year!

The waterslides at the pool

We were allocate on arrival when we landed in Antalya and were shuffled off to The Atlantis Hotel in Belek. Never having been to turkey before, I didn't know what to expect of where we were or what the hotel was like, but I was pleasantly surprised at what we had been given.

It took about 30 minutes on the air conditioned coach from the airport to arrive at the hotel. We were second drop off. We had filled in a registration card on the coach whilst travelling so check in was quick and easy. Bellboys took our suitcases and placed stickers on them with our room number on for later delivery (only took about 10 minutes!).

Our initial room had was for 4 people - a double bed, a single, a chaise lounge and a fold up chair/bed, and a large balcony. Minibar and safe are in the room. Safe is €1.50 per day). We actually changed room as we had requested a sea view - no problems at all at reception and within 30 minutes we had our sea view. A smaller room however but there was only 2 of us anyway, so it wasnt a problem. We now had a small balcony and a bay window on the side so our room was really light and airy.

We had a welcome meeting at 8pm the first night with Ian Whiteside, our Thomas Cook rep. He game a wide variety of information and was amusing with it, so nobody got bored with a huge influx of info on a day where it had been mostly travelling!

During the holiday we spoke to Ian on a number of occasions and he was always very friendly and informative. Recommending trips and general local info. He is also a good laugh and joined us on a trip to Antalya one day.

The hotel itself is spotless. With many bars and restaurants. Some where closed but we holidayed outside off season (March) so it was a bit cold and quiet for all the brochure activities to be going - but we knew this when we booked.

Food quality and choice was excellent throughout. My friend doesn't like spicy foods and found plenty of things to eat. I love majority of foods and was suprised at the selection we had each day. Staff at the restaurant are very attentive and collect drink orders as soon as you sit.

The entertainment (Animation) team were brilliant. There were some we didn't get to speak to, partially as a few didn't speak good english - however they perhaps spoke good German or other languages as they did mingle with other guests. Umit and Tania were particularly fabulous and became quite good friends with us in the week long stay. He was a bit of a madman at times and never ceased to amaze us with his none stop energy! It got me tired - how Tania kept up with him I'll never know!

The entertainment team (possibly because it was faitly quiet) had time during the day to actually sit down a chat with you about the hotel sometimes for a good while and we had some interesting conversations with a few - including learning a lot about Turkish history which was absolutely fascinating - thank you Umit again!

The hotel has pool tables, table tennis, crazy golf, mini club for kids, many pools, jacuzzis, pool slides, daytime entertainment in season, morning gym, pool gym, turkish bath, sauna, massage facilities, hairdressers, shops, supermarket, internet cafe..etc etc you name it its probably there.

The hotel is about a 40 minute easy walk to Belek centre but a 10 minute dolmus ride. Sadly with all our many activites we didn't get there however we have been advised its small but worth a visit - if nothing else the only bar in Belek with Sky Sports is there at the Roman bar!

All in all, we had a fantastic week with not a complaint to be uttered from either myself or my friend.

Females should be aware that you will come away with an ego ready to burst as many gorgeous young Turks chatted us up (we are not models I can tell you!) during our stay. Some are subtle some are most definately not however they don't hassle you in any way - they respected the fact I said I had a boyfriend and left it at that.

I would recommend the Atlantis to anyone family, singles, couple and more senior citizens as everyone is catered for in one way or another.

My ratings show my appreciation for my holiday there and I hope to return soon.

The Lower pool near to the beach.

The main animation pool.

We visited Turkey for the first time this year and chose to stay at the Atlantis.
All I can say is that the brochure pics do this place an injustice. You will never go hungry no matter how fussy an eater you are- theres just too much choice. One other thing that is different about the atlantis compared with all the other all inclusive hotels we have stayed in is that there are no identity cards or wrist bands to be bothered with. It's also the only all inclusive that we have stayed in were all the drinks are full strength.

The place is spotless and the rooms massive and very modern. The only downside to this holiday was that because we went in July we had to get up at about 5am each morning to get sunloungers round the pool (well if you can't beat em join em), even though there are hundreds but if you do oversleep one of the attendants will do their best to find you some (a small tip is always greatfully received).
