| Picture the scene... Its your first morning in Lindos and you awake in bed maybe on your own, possible with your girlfriend/wife/ gay lover!!! you get the idea. The air con is set to the max, you decide to brush your teeth and ask yourself is it safe to drink the water? (it is, for the amateurs among you) as long as it is from the tap and not some sewer works! You open the door to your apartment, sunnies on, lubed to the max in sun lotion and what hits you is a surge of heat that not even Kurt Russel would have fancied tackling in the 1991 movie Backdraft...
Big beach? Small beach.. mmm I recommend you go to Pallas beach(small). You spend the day lapping in the waters, drinking a few beers with friends old and new(a note with the beer, make sure you have illegal amounts of lime in it, rude not to) in the resturants that are approx 22 steps away , err depending on where your sun lounger is! Skala, Medditerraneo ect are all great, offering great food and service.
You have had an exhausting day on the beach, you even found the energy to get off your large bottom and go to the jetty and ride a ringo! George, if you ask him nicely may even let you sit in the boat! Put it this way its like a scene from Kevin Costners WaterWorld but 1 billionth of the budget and no Dennis Hooper!.
You walk back to your apartment and up the hill from hell.You start off feeling okay, but your legs begin to tremble. There is a point on the step incline where gravity does not exist, I recommend the push your feet firmly on the ground below you and you should find yourself catapulted to the top! I jest of course!
You get ready for the night out,your best linen is creased within an inch of its life but you care not, when you are sporting a tan like that who would care about a few inperfections like a creased shirt! mmm where to go. First off go to Yannis bar for a liquid refreshment where you will be greated by Marco to serve all your liquid requests, saying hi to Nikko and Kostar the band of brothers(only their mother can tell them apart). Where to eat? see Andy Barnetts review of resturants. Some great places to consume, see if you can beat my seven meals in one day!! bet you cant!!!
Your stomach is full and you resemble a stuffed pig, alsa without the apple in your mouth. Waddling and chanting you are in need of another drink! come on lets face it, you deserve it. Not only did you slay the evil Medusa before lunch after she sadly turned a few donkeys to stone but your also had a cheeky game of chess with Hercules, he always cheats though and is abit of a hard sod so let him win!
Bars/nightlife galore go here... Pals, Lindos by Night, Luna, Quipi`s Antika, Ampitheatre... but this is where the review turns biased.
ARCHERS, ARCHERS ARCHERS is the place to be seen and dance and party till you are err.. told to leave and go home and please be quite when you vacate. I have been on holiday four times in Lindos and I return on the 30th July to work till end of season. Yes thats right I have quit my job at the Daily Mail in London to bring joy and good cheer to many.. well i will try.It a great club with great music and atmosphere. Get there from 1.30 am at let the Vodka Red Bull flow!
Heres the deal I will be working as PR with the two blonde bomb shells Jesse and Amy. Come up to me outside the door or when in the club and say these words FLAME ON, doing so will entitle you to a free shot/drink(at managers descretion) all welcome as long as your up for a good time!
Lindos has really become like a second home and really caters for all. Thats why I find it and odd place! Young couples, old couples, families groups of guys and girls!! All getting on in harmony.. so if your not sure where to go on holiday this year look no further!!
