Malibu Park: Quite a hike away by scottish_girl |
| Posted 28 November 2005 about a visit in May 2000 | Overall rating: 5.6 |
The location of this complex was a bit too far out for me, but was close to the waterpark.
When I was here the taxi drivers decided to strike and so it was a long long walk back after a heavy night out in Veronicas, and still to this day dont know how we managed it!
Dont think I would stay here again, although we found the apartment was a great size.
We stayed with JMC whose reps were the most miserable people I have had the misfortune to meet - a smile wouldnt have hurt!

Malibu Park: Malibu Park Hints and tips ! by Louise B |
| Posted 24 July 2004 about a visit in October 2002 | Overall rating: 6.0 |
Hi ! Lived in Tenerife for 5 years and 3 of those were spent living at the Malibu Apartments.
They are not the highest of standards but as far as location and facilities. I personally think it has a lot to offer.
There is a short cut opposite the apartments next to the Water park which is throught the car park and leads you to the Mercado centre ! there are a handfull of bars as you come out of malibu and take your right.
Several supermarkets and the water park right opposite.
As far as safety in the apartments then it comes down to common sense. there can be thefts in high season ! usualy from the spanish or Albanians but as long as you lock everything up when your out or throught the night keep your balcony/patio door locked ! then there aint a problem ! hire a fan if your too hot !
But this goes for the whole of Tenerife ! thefts can be high all over !
Taxi's are available all the time and cost about 5 euros to Veronicas.
If your not in to Veronicas then a 5 min walk down hill ! to Puerto colon will offer something a little different. Harbour, restaurants shops and bars.
If you have children with you then 10 mins in to Torviscas will bring you to the american Harley's restaurant and some family fun pubs.
Its a quick walk down hill through the car park to a lot of the bars and restaurant but I advise a taxi back !
Hasta Pronto
Louisa x

Malibu Park: Malibu Dump, more like!! by Peter Warnes |
| Posted 14 March 2004 | Overall rating: 3.0 |
I stayed here in October 2003, and what a complete dump this place is.
I know this is a budget holiday place to stay, but for goodness sake you'd be better off sleeping rough!!
Our appartment was unfortunately near the main entrance, so anyone and everyone walked passed our windows making it impossible to sleep. There were comings and going all through the night, and to make it even worse, the hotel builders started at 7am using hammers to re-lay the pavements.
I stayed in the lounge area on the sofa-bed which was too short and very uncomfortable. I am only 5' 9" tall and my feet hung through the arm of the sofa.
Also the sheets that were supplied had huge rips in them and often I woke up tied up in the bedding!!
The restaurant was a joke too!
Half cooked burgers and a sad tired looking lettuce leaf was not appetising at all and I'd wish I had gone without.
The usual pool drama's that De Las Americas has to offer were all too clear. A queue of dozens of people gathered by the sun-beds at 9am amazed me when in about 10 minutes all the beds were taken, towels put on them, and then left until the afternoon . How selfish is this? I saw one woman collect her towel late afternoon, and had not even laid on it once!
I would never return to Malibu Park, and although the location was OK, would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

Malibu Park: ok for a budget holiday !!!!!!! by Gary Daish |
| Posted 27 August 2003 | Overall rating: 7.0 |
very big place but well out of the way for the main Playa Attractions (unless of course you want to spend your holiday in the aqua park which is directly next door !!!!!)
Friendly bar staff & good safe pool area, but you do really need to use a taxi to get in the centre of Playa (ie Veronica's or The Patch)

Malibu Park: Take your hiking boots!!! by Stu28 |
| Posted 16 August 2003 | |
Stayed at the malibu park in march 2003, really nice place to stay, the pool was very clean and plenty of sunbeds are available if you up early enough!! Food and refreshments around the pool are ideal with a large choice, the malibu park staff are friendly and helpfull. The only downfall is there is a bit of a treck to the nightlife in veronica's, but apart from that very good...
