Manaus: So good that I'm in two minds about sharing the news! by Krystyna |

I discovered this gem when I was in C'an Pastilla the Easter before and I was shown around this hotel by a member of staff who just happened to be Scottish. She was charming and that is a word I'd use for the rest of the staff, too. They were helpful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The hotel itself is a great size - big enough to have all you need but small enough to feel cosy and welcoming. The public areas were nicely decorated and kept in lovely condition.
The hotel is a bit of a step from the beach but it's downhill on the way there! It's about five minutes away unless you have toddlers refusing to sit in their pushchairs and then it's at least ten, longer if they spot the swing park you have to pass. It's tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac and sited amongst some trees. We chose it because of meeting up with friends who have very small children. It was so easy to entertain them and contain them in the outside areas as these are ringed by a wall. The kiddies pool and other bits were all close to the sunbeds, tub and adults pool so we didn't spend all our time running after them across a vast area.
The food was fabulous. We were so glad that we chose the full board option and they gave generous packed lunches if you decided to go out for the day. The range of food was great and the desserts were varied meal by meal. There was always a lot of fresh fruit at all meals.
There were plenty of facilities within the hotel and the pool area had lots of other bits, too. The only noise at night was from a nearby hotel's music but that stopped at a reasonable hour. The balconies look over the pool area and the wooded bits are behind. I would recommend that you take plug-in mosquito repellent because they were certainly around and got in when we left the patio doors open. They have two or three suites as well as bedrooms. We were shown a couple of these and they were beautifully done and had a nice sitting room. The only downside was that they didn't have the outlook from the balconies that the ordinary rooms did.
You'll have a great time if you stay here. It's well away from the madness and tacky bits that El Arenal is known for. If you want all that you can get to it with ease but this place shows that there still are nice areas even within this resort.
