Manuela: Excellent by Stacey Clark |

After reading the other reviews of this hotel I think these other people must have stayed at a different manuela hotel. I have been to manuela in bitez 6 times now so obviously I love the place, It has the perfect location on the beach with bean bags and hammocks aswell as free sunbeds. The rooms are basic but cleaned every single day. The food is lovely and if you do need to complain they are so apologetic and will do anything to help and make sure it never happens again. We did get complimentry drinks and boat trips for no reason other than the kindness of oktay the hotel owner and this is why people there have been returning year after year. The temple bar which is run by the same owner at manuela is the best in bitez with some great entertainment and raffle nights where they give away about 5 free holidays and various other prizes. As per previous review I can assure anyone reading this that music is turned down before 12 to respect sleeping holiday makers but you can stay up drinking as long as you like and the staff wont close up until you are ready to leave.
And as for the insults some people made about the staff what do they expect after a 15 hour shift when they are away from their families and under constant pressure. I have always found the lads at the temple bar a good laugh and genuine they remember your name when you return and I even keep in touch when Im away from Turkey nothing is too much trouble. Yes the men like the girls the same as any country but they are just as happy to talk and be friends.
If you are laid back and like the sun, good food and meeting new people The manuela is the hotel for you. www.manuelahotel.com
There is also a new bar opening in 2008 called cj's which is run by 2 old members of staff from manuela so make sure you visit you are guaranteed to be looked after.

Manuela: Those were the days by Harlan & Christina Senior |
| Posted 12 September 2006 about a visit in September 2006 | Overall rating: 3.9 |
We have taken holidays for the past few years at the Manuela, but sadly never again the standard has fallen alarmingly.
We have always known if you are not in the Bar 24/7 or eat in the restaurant morning, noon, and night the staff are not interested, and don't they show it!!!Everywhere is now looking shabby and neglected, the restaurant dull and uninviting, service poor by waiters who were disinterested, and not overclean, and one quite truclent, and the food served was below standard enjoyed at other establishments.
We were very disappointed and decided to check other Hotels in Bitez for our future holidays, my goodness does'nt word get around! the jungle telegraph was soon at work as we were suddenly offered complimentary boat trips and other inducements, and after our refusal our presence was barely acknowledged for the rest of the holiday, not even a "Good Morning".
The beach service too has declined from smart, attentive, service to a rather hit and miss affair, and our Daughter was accosted in no uncertain manner to pay her beach bill at the end of the day,yet a day later was not even asked.
In the past the beach was raked clean every morning, litter removed and the sun beds cleaned, not now, there was a pile of dog pooh on the beach all the time we were there, avoiding of course.
The two Turkish members of staff who been there for some time now seem to think anything goes their mode of dress and general appearance and they are the life and soul of the party, especially to bikini wearing young females, or the large tippers.
Our overall impression was the Manuela, excellent in the past is now trading on that past reputation, and the phrase"Cutting corners"comes to mind.
Sorry Manuela we have now to move on.

Manuela: WHAT A DUMP by Lisa Muldoon |

Just arrived back from Manuela Hotel and can honestly say that this is the worst hotel I have ever been to. Ants in the bed and on the floor, rooms not cleaned, sewage on the paths, pumping music at top volume until 3am every morning and a very dirty swimming pool (which I got a bad infection from). I cannot believe that tour operators sent customers to this hell hole - next time I will be going back to the Toloman, the Kassandra or the small family run Regal hotel which seemed lovely.
