We visited the Mar Y Playa in October 2005 and found it an ideal base for touring the island. Initially the room we were allocated on our 2 weeks stay was set in a corner with limited views but comfortable if basic. Simple cooking facilities but at least a fridge for the essentials. We asked if there was a chance of a move for the 2nd week and true to their word we were reallocated a much higher standard room with a fantastic view of the beach and the coast line.
Staff here are very helpful and friendly. Rooms cleaned on a regular basis and linen changed regularly - clean apaprtment. The small bar / restaurant serves good food but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We walked into Ibiza town a couple of times which was not very strenuous but most enjoyable.
Hotel has internet access in foyer to enable you to keep in touch whilst away and they also have secure personal effects lockers in a room just off the entrance hall.
The hotel booked us a car for 5 days and we got very good rates - delivery and collection from door.
The hotel is beginning to look its age now and the newer part – adjacent – was closed when we were there but does look a bit tidier.
Going in October you might like to note that a lot of shops and facilities have shut down but if you want a pleasant relaxing holiday then we would recommend this hotel. We went with Portland and it was extremely good value for money.
