Marmaris Palace: dont go there if you want to relax by Stefan Scaillet |
| Posted 25 June 2009 about a visit in June 2009 | Overall rating: 6.3 |
There is no place to escape from the the swimming pool entertainment noise. If you like to relax stay away from the Maramaris Palace .
Every morning it's a battle to get one of the too fews deck chairs (forget it after 8.30 AM).
The hotel heavy look decoration hasn't changed from the eighties.
The food is OK (one can see that the cook does it best with a very limited budget).Beware of the processed meat though: even the hotel's hungry cats wouldn't touch the rubber like hambugers.
The shows at night are just APPALLING and sometimes incredibly vulgar (bellydancer ondulating with a rear on the nose of a Russian tourist).
The 'beach' is concrete deck but the view is superb and the water is very clean.

Marmaris Palace: Disapointing by Sylvia Gibney |
| Posted 18 April 2007 about a visit in April 2007 | Overall rating: 5.9 |
The building of this hotel is beautiful, the room was fine, but the location was awful - we were positioned right on the main route of the grounds and had 24hr noise from other holiday makers, traffic and porters with trolleys. We asked for a quiet location not on the ground floor and got the opposite - we couldnt even open our curtains as we were so close to the pathway everyone could see in. Requests for clean towels and extra bedding (as it was acually cold) could take a whole day to receive - we were lucky in that rspect others were waiting 3 days ! The food was awful and the joke was that the restaurants in Marmaras had a lot of the guests dining there. The hotels excuse was they didn't expect an influx of guests at that time of year - but were happy to accept the boolings !
The holiday was quite expensive and we were dis-heartened by the experience, wouldnt return there - but on the up side the bus to the town stops right outside !

Marmaris Palace: Great Autumn Holiday by Ray Stacey |
| Posted 28 January 2007 about a visit in October 2006 | Overall rating: 8.4 |
Great all inclusive hotel, ideal location between Marmaris & Icmeler.
The room was the best we have had in Turkey.
Towels are provided near the pool.
There are a lot of pine trees around the pools, these do shade the terraces, which i'm sure in July & August is very welcome, in October though it restricted the space available for sun bathing.
Shows at night are good, outside amplitheatre, or inside if it rains, (It was october).
The hotel is 5 star by Turkish standards, (don't expect British 5 star, but then this applies to most turkish hotels).
We got this DIY holday at a bargain price; booking late with MedHotels and flying with Thomson

Marmaris Palace: marmaris palace icmeler by Ellie_meg |

we visited marmaris palace hotel last week.
the hotel is in a lovely area with fab views but sadly the food let this hotel down, it was an all inclusive with a very poor selection of food, terrible for kids as it was turkish food, no cakes for dessert just turkish puddings so we were very disappointed with the food this is supposed to be 4.5 star but more 3 star, queues for food also was a pain, the hotel better get the food sorted out for the summer season or they will have loads of complaints,
we got this at a good price being out of season but the quality and quantity was very poor not sure if that was due to the price we paid. the children enjoyed the ice skating rink that was the highlight of their holiday, rooms were clean but basic again more 3 star
