I stayed at the Martinque in the middle of June. although it wasnt the busiest time to go it was still a brillant holiday. the hotel was clean enough only thing was they didnt provide us with the largest of towels for showering so we had to use our beach towels. three hand towels arent sufficient for three girls. the hotel is in a good location as it is not right in the middle of the night life but still within staggering distance. there are also a few bars across from it that do a good breakfast if your recovering from the night before. We visited The Local every morning for breakfast and then again at night as Rachel (the PR girl) would gets us free jugs.

the hotel pool is lovely and really big. there are plenty of sun loungers but u still have to go down early to get ones with a brolly. the pool doesnt open til 10am so u can stagger back from clubs and manage a couple of hours sleep for heading down to the pool. the bar at the pool is pretty nice. u can get anything from chips to a pizza and its pretty cheap as well. didnt visit the restaurant as it was cheap enough to eat out every night. (don't go to jokers its nasty!!)

the main night club BCM is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and there are a few goof pubs along the way as well. go to BCM before midnight and u get loads of free gifts, its also free drink when u pay to get in( between 16 and 20 euro) oh and girls get in for 4 euro less. walk a little further on and u will get to the main strip which is heaving and u wil get alot of hassle from PR's but still they will give u a good deal.

the martinque is known for being one of the wildest hotels in Magaluf and it defintly was. i suggest if its a family holiday to choose a different hotel.
all in all this holiday was great... it was cheap to eat out every night.... drink was reasonably cheap and pretty big measures. The clubs are amazing with live DJ's from all over the world and dancers.

will definetly be back next year....

Appartment

The indoor pool

After just getting home from Magaluf, ive got to say the Martinque was a great place to stay, situated only 5 minute walk from the nightlife and 2 minute walk to the beach. Good places to eat (especially if your a bit strapped for cash) is dreams across the road from martinque 2.40 euros for a full english breakfast (good for hangovers) speak to Rob who works there great guy and tell him Toni sent ya, another good place is the local pub also across the road from martinque which is ver cheap to eat at too. Definetly go to BCMs for a good night out 23 euros all inclusive bar and the people are great, we made good friends with DJ Gotti and Mr Espanol and the rest of the millenium dancers downstairs. Foam party is a must but seriously take a snorkel or something as me and my friends swallowed half the foam and was nearly sick everywhere (was not good haha). Another good place to go is Coyote Ugly (getting a job there next year) lively bar and girls if you get up and dance on the bar you get shots poured down your neck all night, left there very drunk on my last night, lads sorry but all you get is spanked if you get on the bar, it looks very painful too. Ouch! The strip is good but get pestered every 2 minutes by Reps trying to ply you with alcohol and rip you off, unless you make good friends with them, make sure you see Shorty and Kiwi both BCM reps theyll sort you out and they are quality guys. A must is taking a quick swim in the sea after a good night out at BCM its a ritual over there adn you'll find atleast 30-40 people jumping off the jetti naked at 8 o'clock in the morning. Overall great holiday the martinique was a great place to stay people were friendly and for the price its good quality. We had a few problems i.e. our safe and patio doors were broke but we went and told reception and they helped us out straight away and fixed the problem, as for the security guard he wasnt scary at all and didnt chase us once with a baseball bat although we did try haha. Despite people saying you need to pay for a fan for these appartment, all appartments are fully air-conditioned and is bloody freezing if you leave it on when you get in from a night on the piss (but no complaints about getting too hot). Everyone we met was so friendly and made frriends with numerous groups of lads, that looked after us and showed us around on our first day. Got to be said this was the best holiday ive ever had, loved it so much im going back next year to work out there for the summer.

Accomodation - Very celan, quite small but good value for money considering you dont spend much of your time in it. Small kitchen but fits your basic needs, with a refrigarator for all your alcohol haha :) and a small cooker which is good for quick meals like pasta and sauce which is what we lived on for 10 days. I advise you to invest in hiring a toaster it only costs 18 euros and is good for a quick snack in the morning or a after a night out. Plenty or wardrobe space as we all had lots of clothes so it gave us the chance to get rid of our cases. Hotel was clean only problem was on our last night both the lifts broke so we had to carry our bags down 3 sets of flights of stairs but soem helpful guys helped us out. Hotel staff were very friendly and always willing to help. We were given fresh towels and sheets everyday and ouor appartment was cleaned every other day, and the cleaners are very friendly.

Pool - The pool was great a good size and very clean, no problems getting a sunbed as long as you put your towel on one before 12 o'clock. Pool staff were great and the lifeguard altohugh a bit of a letch was very friendly too.

Beach - The beach was lovely smaller than i thought but a great place if the pool gets too much and you fancy a quite day relaxing or recovering from a hangover.

things to do - For the younger people for 30 euros you can go on a 3 hour booze cruize either in the morning mid-day or the sunset cruize which is what we went on when its a bit cooler and you get to see the sun set. Lots of activites on board and you get the chance to go snorkling and also get to drink lots of alcohol. The staff were great, very funny and really take care of you. This is a good time to go if you want to avoid the hot afternoon sun. Also walking around magaluf and torrenevo is good for shopping. Also if you get the oppurtunity go shopping to either Palma Nova or Palma they have big shopping centres there and is a great day out for both younger people and people with families.

Food - we didnt eat at our hotel but did eat out alot, i would recommend Dreams directly across from Martinique and The local pub, very cheap to eat and and the food is great, other than the usual KFC, McDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut, Tom Browns is a great place to eat aswell situated only 3 minute walk from Martinque, not as cheap as Dreams and the local but the menu is great and the staff are great. You also have Titantics which is situated next to the beach and that does more proper meals like steak and fish at good prices, and you also have a chinese restaurant direclty outside your hotel which is absolutely gorgeous.

Clubs - Bcm's is a must 23 euros all inclusive bar which also allows you to get into 3 different venues and the staff are great and the dancers are very very nice ; ) something good to look at all night and the atmosphere is superb and have lots of top DJ's like Dave Pearce and DJ Sammy and you get lots of free merchandise aswell, my wardrobe is packed of it. Coyote Uglys is good girls dance on the bar and you get free shots all night. Another good place to go is Funky Monkeys they have an inflatable bed wiht twister on it which is alot of un when your drunk and the music is great in there. Another good place to go is Head Kandy if you prefer more dance music, pay 15 euros and that gets you into 5 different places including head kandy/banana bar, tokio joes and a few more. If you are aged between 18-25 your in heaven for nightlife and the drinks are very cheap.

Likes - Well everything about Magaluf

Dislikes - Nothing at all!

Overall - Mgalauf is a great place would recommend this place to anyone and the Martinique is fantastic, and i have already booked my holiday for next year staying at the same hotel. Magaluf 2006 here we come!

Martinique: Nightmare Spanish Hell Hole by David Green 3
Posted 29 April 2004
Stayed at this place with 8 other lads about 1999. Whilst
the hotel staff insisted we went to an insurance meeting,
all our suitcases and passports etc were stolen from our rooms. No forced entry and the safes were ripped off the walls insise the wardrobes. We interrogated staff and it was obvious it was an inside job. The friendly staff even arranged us a visit to the police station as they were claiming we were doing an insurance job. God forbid I ever go to Magaluff again. I wouldn't use this hotel as a kennel for my dog.

Martinique: Great Place! by Bravh4rt2003
Posted 21 March 2003
We went as a group of four guys in August 2002.
The place was in an ideal situation.
Local bars and supermarkets for eating and relaxing, great pool and entertainment at night (The Hypno Show was brill!)
It was great for night(mornings) when you came home as it was nice and peaceful if you ever wanted a sleep (but whod want that in Magaluf)
Just dont irritate the security guards they can become quite violent and threatening if you are singing and shouting when coming home after a night on the town, don't know why though!!!
