| For many years, I wished for my dream holiday in Mauritius. So last month, my boyfriend took me. I was very disappointed. We stayed in Mont Choisy but were taken all around the Island by a local, and found the Island to be extremely dirty - a totally different standard of hygiene. I realise that every country has its run down and slumly parts - but outside of the 5 star hotel complexes - it was all like this. On the plus side, the beaches were absolutely amazing, and Ile aux cerf was gorgeus. But even the local was disappointed at how they at let the botanical gardens go to ruin since he had last been there. I also found the Restaurants very disappointing - we were lucky to find one amazing one -Pescartorie in Trix aux Beaches (although it was very expensive, but worth it).
I would sum up Mauritius by saying that it was once a naturally beautiful island and then the inhabitants came and contaminated it. |
