Visited the Melia Gran in the height of summer 2003, and the hotel was full most nights.
The rooms are luxurious, comfortable and very clean.
Breakfast is a feast of different types of food - I defy you to not find something that you like!
The pool was busy during our stay, but we were always able to get sun-loungers. There is a small children's pool as well as the main pool.
Majority of guests were Spanish, with some English and French. Mix of families, couples (straight & gay) and some business travellers. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Location has its positive points (quiet, wonderful views, close to the marina with its high-quality but affordable restaurants) but is a fair walk from the busy part of town (15-20 minutes). Local beaches are 5 minutes walk (including nudist beach).
We really enjoyed our stay at the Melia. Highly recommended and will use it again in the future!
