I booked this hotel after finding several favourable comments/reviews in various articles and web sites - I'm happy to confirm them!
Location is excellent, just a few minutes walk along an alley from the top of the Ramblas (near Placa Catalunya)
It's an old building but beautifully kept and updated where necessary. Staff were friendly and helpful and well used to dealing with tourists, immediately warning us of the various scams and pitfalls awaiting the unwary!
Room was clean,small but adequate, as was the bathroom; furniture old but not shabby - just interesting, especially our headboard! Bed was fine - firm enough mattress, clean linen etc. Our particular room had a window which opened on to a lightwell rather than a street - our view was of the other room's plumbing and this was the only black mark I can think of - especially as we were woken by the sounds of the other room's plumbing each morning - not a big deal really. Breakfast (only meal supplied) was fine with a good buffet choice. The cost of this hotel seems reasonable - especially as Barcelona is not a cheap city. I'd definitely use it again if I return to Barcelona.
