Mestral Llebeig: Cracking Apartments and Wonderful Staff. by Andrew Wilkinson |

Mestral & Llebeig Apartments
Location
These apartments are located centrally in the small village of Santo Tomas. Most of the hotels and apartments are owned by the same chain of hotels, as are the restaurants, shops and supermarkets. In two minutes you can be on the southern facing beach and in five minutes you could have walked from one end of the resort to the other. Restaurant choice and bars are limited and the prices are expensive compared to larger resorts elsewhere in the Balerics.
If you wish to explore the island then a car hire is essential.
The apartments are ideal for families, two great beaches, quiet roads and limited activities to spend your money on. It is also very flat and therefore good for those with walking difficulties. No late night drinking establishments and no rowdy youths.
Rooms
Ground and first floor only and all within a stones throw of the swimming pools. They are spacious, clean and well equiped. Both microweave and TV with usual channels plus a bonus (BBC One).
Service
Throughout the establishment and the other bars/restaurants is excellent. Nico and Xec are wonderful ambassadors for the company and always willing to help out with advise. Office staff all speak excellent English and are friendly and efficient.
Dining
There is only a pool bar with burgers, hot dogs and chips open 3 hours a day so not much to say under this heading.
Facilities
Two apartment blocks (mirror image of each other) split by a small road. Each block has a pool, pool bar, grassed area, and children's park. The Mestral bar (Nico's) opens until about 12:30 to 1:00 each night. There is also an internet connection available for those who can't leave work alone! The other hotels will welcome non residents, so you can sound out the other bars and their entertainment if you feel so inclined. Las Dunas has entertainment each evening for the children from 8 o'clock, and a cabaret after that, but closes about 11, it's back to Nico's for a night cap therafter.
This resort is isolated, quite pricy, but if you hire a car and get out and about you can find the cheaper supermarkets for those holiday makers that are self catering.
Value for money
Excellent value for money.
Would I go back? - Absolutely

Mestral Llebeig: Fantastic!!!!!!!! by Jeni Lambert |
| Posted 24 July 2005 about a visit in June 2005 | |
The apartments are massive!! Balcony was huge...plenty of room for myself, my partner and the 3 kids!
The appliances within the apartment were brilliant...never been to a self catering apartment with a microwave before! It even had a proper oven, not your usual 2 rusty cooking rings! And free air conditioning!!
Location of Santo Thomas is brilliant if you're wanting a relaxing holiday, not good at all if you're a party animal...the pub's generally all shut by 12, the entertainment isn't exactly out of this world, but it does keep the children amused so you get to drink your Sangria in peace!
The beach is beautiful, literally across the road from the apartments...sea was warm, and clear...safe for the children....very shallow...with lifeguards patrolling it.
Food was OK....pretty basic menu's but you won't starve...seems to be extortionate to eat out though....five of us, 3 course meal, over 100 euro's....not extortionate when you think what you pay at home, but usually holidays work out cheaper to eat out!
Drink was also quite expensive....
Resort is very small...hire a care, see the island... Ciutadella is well worth a visit....Mahon is nowhere near as nice...although the harbour is lovely... take a trip up to the north coast for dramatic views...caves etc.
I recommend this holiday to everyone....It was brilliant!! Been back 3 days and am struggling with the usual post holiday depression.....
C'est la vie....

Mestral Llebeig: Mestral Apartments by Garry Smith |

We have visited these apartments 3 times in late September. The weather is good, temperatures 75-85.
The apartments are very good but cooking facilities basic. Staff excellent. This is a quiet resort, ideal for a real chillout holiday.(Never seen a time share tout)
Santo Thomas is an excellent base to discover Minorca, a car is essential. We use poppycars (excellent service at a reasonable price.)
