| | Spent the day in this fine city as part of a visit to the San Siro stadium to watch Italy versus Wales (UEFA 2004 qualifier). Must say it was the complete opposite to Turin - locals were nice, very cosmopolitan, fine shops and bars (despite the alcohol ban!), lots going on (beach volleyball championships opposite the castle, music festival on the main square opposite the cathedral). Obviously the area around the football ground was a bit dodgy, but I may well go back there for the weekend - a day wasn't really long enough. |
