| | Recently visited Milan to watch Utd in the Champions League and was bit disappointed with what I saw. There was graffitti on every spare piece of wall!! It was not the vibrant city I thought it would be, there were no bars or pubs and the restaurants (which were so far apart you needed plane to get between them) were the only real places to get a beer unless you visited one of MANY Mcdonalds on each street! On the plus side the shopping was great... lots of small boutiques and well known high street shops all very inexpensive. Plastic took bit of hammering on designer sunglasses and clothes etc. Lot of the people we spoke to were being over charged for food and drink. Hotel was nice and clean, only problem was it was too far away from centre of Milan meaning endless taxis and underground journies. Did find great restaurant on last night near Central station called Twins, run by Egyptian bloke.... massive portions and great service!! |
