This hotel was excellent value for money. Quite basic but very clean with helpful, efficient staff and plenty to eat at breakfast. The hotel was well situated within close proximity of the interesting landmarks.
The only draw back was the occupant of the neighbouring room - Steven Sobek. This man snored, talked in his sleep, forgot his tooth paste, expected me to lock his belongings in my suitcase, carry his contraband through customs and carry his wet weather gear around the city in my ruck sack. He had to phone his Mother every five minutes, wouldn't stop talking about East German motorcycles, insisted on dragging me for miles and miles around the city until my feet were red raw with blisters and wouldn't stop telling me stories about Poland. He also arranged a taxi to take us from the airport to the hotel. This 90 minute, 180km/h journey cost me the best part of £50!
Beware - our budget airline flew us to an airport described as Düsseldorf which was in fact closer to Swindon. The airport was basically a cow shed in the middle of an old RAF airfield. On the face of it a cheap journey but when you factored in the taxi fare - not so cheap. Yet another Sobek organisational triumph.
All in all a really nice city and a modest, good value hotel. Just don't go there with Steven Sobek – he is a menace and is physically, mentally, spiritually and financially draining - but what a ride!

I would recommend this place for anyone on a budget. Simple but more than adequate accommodation with good service.
The room was very clean with all necessary facilities. The bed was comfortable, which is a major priority as far as I am concerned, so I was pleasantly surprised. I had been warned that the hotel was on a busy street. There was a little too much external noise at times but no more than you would expected on a busy city street.
The location is absolutely fine as a base for exploration. a pleasant little walk soon gets you to the central waterside area. The inclusive buffet breakfast is of a good standard and enables you to have a good fill prior to outside ventures. Nice cosy surroundings add to the enjoyment. The only negative point was an ambient smokey smell that intruded into my single non-smoker room from a nearby smoking room. Other than that I would definately return if I were to visit the city of Duesseldorf again.
