Moon Palace: Absolutely Great! by Jillian Mcqueen |
| Posted 22 July 2005 about a visit in July 2004 | Overall rating: 9.5 |
Stayed in the Moon Palace in August of 2004 for 2 weeks on my honeymoon. The place was sparkling, rooms are an excellent size and could not hear any noise from the neighbours. Beach was cleaned every 30 minutes and very peaceful.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Every night we tried to go to a different restraunt and the quality of food was perfect.
Honeymooners receive champne on ice on arrival with a fruit basket and also a cocktail night will all the other happy couples (which there were a lot of) and also a lovely T-shirt.
There was only one problem with the place and that was the number of cats that hang around the walkways at night. Personally i aint keen and if you have got a food hamper from the restraunt they come out for a bit
Would recommend the walk round the kitchens (is free) and its great to see the size of store rooms and the puddings and displays being made.
Difinately the best holiday i have ever had!

Moon Palace: Luxurious but bored ! by Jurgysgirl |
| Posted 31 July 2004 about a visit in September 2003 | Overall rating: 9.0 |
Stayed for a week in October 2003. Absolutely beautiful setting on a huge beach overlooking the ocean. Fabulous grounds. Excellent restaurants. Only comment I would make is that the entertainment was abysmal. The same band sang in the main foyer 6 nights a week. The only other evening entertainment was the disco which was full of American teenagers playing silly games and doing karaoke. The best entertainment is found in downtown Cancun which is a taxi ride away and costs you $16 dollars each way so works out quite expensive.
We were bored most nights so it blighted our holiday. If you dont mind paying extra to be entertained OUT of the hotel, then you will be OK. Its such a pity as the hotel has everything else you could wish for.
