I visited the Castle Beach apartments in October 2003 as part of a special offer (book a main summer holiday and get another one for £99) from My Travel/Airtours.
Unfortunately, there is little anyone can do about the weather as it rained on 6 out of our 7 days there.
The apartment we stayed in was lovely. We couldn't fault the facilities at the apartment complex. The apartment was cleaned every day despite it saying twice weekly in the brochure.
The downside was the location of the complex. It was a good 15 minute bus ride from the centre of Fuengirola. The bus, however, only took you into Fuengirola. It didn't bring you back. You either had to walk or get a taxi.
There were 2 supermarkets close by, a Dunnes Stores and a Lidl. To get to these, however, you had to walk over a footbridge across the river. There were plenty of fish in the river, and a few shopping trollies and rats. Just the other side of the river was the motorway. There was a footbridge over the motorway which, I understand, took you towards the centre of Fuengirola.
Castle Beach is ideal for families and for those who are quite happy to stay beside the pool for most of their holiday.

The Castle Beach is situated about 10mins walk from the town of fuengirola.
We went on 25 July 2002 for 2 weeks.
Very clean with swipe entry rooms,a bus and train timetable is available from reception,food served is excellent and very reasonably priced,security is also apparent ,pools are kept clean and tidy,lifeguards present.
I would recommend the Castle Beach to any families,although quietly situated it provides and ideal base for either a lazy holiday or an active one.
