I really couldn't find fault with the Helmsley: its 42nd Street location is perfect and the hotel itself is excellent.
My room on the 22nd floor was clean and very quiet as well as having a wonderful view of the Chrysler Building just a short distance up the street. Even the staff were helpful and relatively friendly (which isn't always the case in New York).
