New Yorker: ramada new yorker hotel by Michael Kenrick |
| Posted 04 March 2004 | Overall rating: 7.0 |
my wife and i stayed at the ramada from february 19 to 22- 2004
its located right on the junction of 34 street and 8 avenue directly behind penn station and maddison square gardens, the rooms are clean and functional but i would advise you ask to check your room before you actualy check in as some of the rooms on the lower floors are fairly cramped and grotty,we were given a room on 21 floor and it was terrible but as soon as we complained we were moved to a lovely room on the 37 floor with terrific views, if your in to photography visit the sky lounge on the 39 floor and the views are spectacular of manhattan
if your going out to woodbury common premium outlet centre you just exit the hotel and stay left up 8 avenue to the port authority bus terminal and go in to the second building for the bus to woodbury common
make sure to get your breakfast tokens from reception to use in the tick tock diner which serves food 24/7
great food huge portions etc
all in all its not a bad hotel if you want just a base to drop off your shopping and head out again but if you want more luxurious surroundings try somewhere else
remember also that all the rooms here are above the 17 story so if you dont like heights avoid the ramada new yorker
im waiting to get my snaps developed and i will post a few shots of the hotel then

New Yorker: Excellent by Keith Moore |
| Posted 04 December 2002 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
The New Yorker is a huge hotel situated on the corner of 8th Ave and 34 St. Only a block to Macys, Empire State and Madison Square Garden. Penn St Station was over the road.
We were on the 36th floor which seemed a little daunting to start with, but the lifts are fast and reliable. The room was clean and spacious with two double beds. The views were magnificent also. There was a small cafe in the lobby and the 24hr Tick Tock Diner attached to the hotel. The food here was reasonably priced and in huge portions.
Well worth considering if on a budget.
