The hotel was superb. Rated as four star, it is really five, from the doormen to the front desk staff and concierge. We asked for some restaurant suggestions and not only got some excellent ones, but the concierge arranged for the hotel's car to take us and pick us up without charge. When the car was later than expected, they insisted on putting us in a cab at the hotel's expense to take us there! The valet parking is the expected price for LA and the car was always waiting for us when we called for it before leaving our room.
The room was spacious, with a good quality king sized bed and good quality bathroom amenities, to say nothing of thick towels that were larger than the postage stamps often used in hotels as bath towels. The location downtown was perfect for our needs. I would recommend this property without any qualms to anyone looking for a top quality downtown LA hotel. And the price paid at DIY was less than half of the best internet rate available from the hotel or elsewhere when we were there.
