Orquidea: Orquidea Hotel by Jason Greenhalgh |
| Posted 28 October 2005 about a visit in September 2005 | Overall rating: 8.5 |
We stayed at the hotel from 19th October 2005 for 1 week on a self catering basis.
Room
We stayed in room 309, which was overlooking the beach. We had to pay extra for the room (42 euro) but we considered it to be worth it. There was enough room for 2 adults and one child of 6. The view from the balcony was great and although you could hear some noise from the entertainment, it did not stop us sleeping. The self catering facilities were nothing special, but was just enough to make toast and sandwiches. Anything else would have been impossible. The room was clean and quite modern, with a fridge, microwave, toaster and pots and pans available. However, there was no kettle, so you tea lovers beter take a travel kettle.
Hotel
The hotel is well situated, overlooking the beach. The public areas are clean and well maintained. The staff are helpful and friendly. We had read some reviews where rooms had been broken in to, but we heard nothing during our stay.
Pool Area
The pool area was quite small and although during our stay we had no trouble getting a sun lounger, I can imagine in mid summer it would be a nightmare. There appears to be very little space for the number of rooms the hotel has available. The pool bar serves drinks and snacks which are tasty and at very reasonbly prices.
Entertainment
The reps provide daytime entertainment, with water basketball, rifle shooting, table tennis, racker ball, badminton. There were also activites for the little children also. In the evenings there was a mini disco at 9 to 9.30, then bingo and karaoke or quizes. Although it was not my cup of tea, the reps worked hard and kept the kids entertained.
Resort
We really enjoyed Santa Eulalia. The promonade was great and was kept clean. There is quite a few restaurant's and a few bars. Although, due to the time of year, there were a few already closed.
Overall
If you are a couple looking for a quiet holiday then this hotel is not for you! If you have children and you want them entertained from morning until night, then I think you will enjoy your stay.

Orquidea: Family Hotel by Bev Ironmonger |

Stayed here 3rd-10th Sept 2005. We were in a party of 19 and all had a great time. The hotel was o.k. for a base, but was full of kids so good for families.
Not enough sunbeds so spent most of our time on the beach away from the noisy pool area, the rooms clean and well equipt with TV, microwave, hob electric kettle, fridge and toaster, but why eat in when there is loads of good eating houses (make a trip to Daffers resturant. It is the best eating house in Santa Eulalia!).
Would not go back to this hotel, but will definately go back to Santa Eulalia!
