This was a family run hotel. The service was quite good and the rooms were nice and clean but very small. They had building work going on at the time which surprisingly didn't effect us at all it didn't wake or disturb us. The times for breakfast were good too, weekends up until 10.30. It was only a continental breakfast which basically consisted of toast and yogurts, you could pay extra for a cooked breakfast of course which we did on one of the mornings but it just didn't seem very organised. We didn't eat in the conservatory as stated in the description we were in a dark room next to this which was ok but as it was a lovely day outside would have been nice to sit out there. there is a pub at the hotel which is convenient for on your way out or just a couple of night caps, they also serve food. There was also an indian restaurant (in the conservatory) at evenings times, we tried this and the food was lovely.
Our room was over the other side of the building and the swipe card to get in the door kept breaking so we couldn't get in and once we did it was quite grubby inside the corridors etc which spoilt it. We got a really could rate by booking with this website but when we got there we notice that their charges were quite a bit higher and if i would have had to pay the higher amount i would have been very disappointed as it wouldn't have been worth it, as we got it cheap it was good value for money.
Overall, it was OK, i would stay again if i HAD to but would prefer something else. It it a great sizw and they have a pub, restaurant etc. i just think they could do a lot more with it to make it a better place to stay.

lovely and welcoming enjoyed our time away
room was big and very clean with extras for the price we paid very good indeed
