Oura-View Beach Club: Excellent Resort, ticks all boxes for a top class holiday by Michael Jennings |
| Posted 07 July 2009 about a visit in June 2009 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
This resort is very good value for money. It has in a very good location with a great view and near all amenities. The food and drink are a little expensive but there are ample restaurants and bars in the vicinity. The apartment was furnished to a high standard and the one we were in has not yet been upgraded which they say they will be doing very soon. Since we do quite a bit of self catering, the only thing that was missing from the kitchen was a colander to strain veg and salads. Overall a resort complex to be highly recommended.

Oura-View Beach Club: Well worth a visit, very nice resort. by Kath Johnston |
| Posted 30 June 2009 about a visit in May 2009 | Overall rating: 9.3 |
We stayed for 1 week in May (4 adults) at the Oura View Beach Club. Can't say anything negative about it at all. Everything from the moment we arrived to our leaving was an excellent experience. Staff are extremely efficient, friendly and very helpful. Cleaning staff did a brilliant job also. Nothing was too much trouble. Pool area, bars & restaurant were spotlessly clean too. Whilst the Oura View is a fairly quiet relaxing holiday, you don't have to go very far to be in the middle of the busy bars, shops & nearby restaurants. Plenty of choice locally for even the fussiest eaters. There is a beautiful golden sandy beach which is lovely. It is also ideally situated for a visit to the old town of Albufeira (a short taxi ride away or even within walking distance if you feel like it). I would highly reccommend anyone to visit the Oura View. Good for couples & families alike & I can't wait to return.

Oura-View Beach Club: Oura-View Beach Club (formerly Montechoro Beach Club) by Mary Chown |
| Posted 08 April 2006 about a visit in August 2004 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
Our latest stay was in September 2005 but we have stayed there nearly every year during the past decade or longer, as we have timeshare there. We have always been delighted with holidays spent there.
In August 2005 the complex, which was formerly called the Montechoro Beach Club, was bought out by Petchey Leisure and it is now called OURA-VIEW BEACH CLUB. The service in our apartment is always good and the reception and bar staff are always very friendly and extremely helpful. The restaurant is good and the hair dressers' (Joaquim Ribeiro) on the complex is to be highly recommended. The pool is very large with separate children's pools.
The complex is situated at the western end of Praia da Oura beach, where there is also a new beach restaurant. The complex has a bus which runs at regular intervals on weekdays to and from Old Albufeira and airport transfers to and from Faro Airport can also be arranged, so it is not essential to have a hire car. The Oura-View Beach Club is built into the cliff, but it is not necessary to walk up the very steep hill which leads from Oura to the beach at Praia da Oura (Cardiac Hill!), because at the complex lifts take you right up to the level ground at the top. Although it is not very far from the Strip, the complex is in no way affected by any adverse noise and it is peaceful and very relaxing there.
More pavement cafes and restaurants can be found just outside the complex's entrance to the beach on a little promenade which also takes you to the Borda d'Agua commercial centre where there are an Ali Super supermarket, a bakers, a paper shop, gift shops and more restaurants. A Marachino supermarket is also to be found opposite the entrance to Praia da Oura beach.
In all it is a very good place to spend a holiday.
