| Paleokastritsa Review: paradise | | Written by Kelly Wilkinson on 30 Mar 2005 about a trip in May 2002.
| This place really is paradise, it is gorgeous the waters here give a new meaning to crystal clear. It is absolutely fantastic it would be really nice to hear from anyone who was visiting at this time.
If you get chance to go down to aphrodite studios for an english breakfast then do, the family that run it are brilliant and will always make you feel welcome.
Anyone who is looking for a livley holiday should avoid this place and just visit it on a boat trip or by car, the bars are very spread out and make sure you get an apartment near to the largest beach as some of the further away places are about 30 minutes walk but is ideal if you can rent a moped or car.
It really is untouched and is still purely a greek village there are many people that do not speak much english, but surely this is the way to get into the greek way of life without any rowdy brits getting drunk and disorderly.
Even at the age of eighteen(as i was then) i loved this place, to get away from it all, without the hustle and bustle of a busy town centre. Even then corfu town is not that far away if thats what you like.
This place is what you imagine greek life to be like so laid back, relaxing, slow paced and friendly. Although i did regret not visiting the monastry at the top of the hill. |
