Vicente, Grannie and Martin - June 05

A tradition - Just look in the bar & you will know what I mean!

The Palm Garden Apartments has now closed down, however Martin has asked that I post the following message for all his friends. Should you wish to email please feel free to contact me through this site and I will pass on his email address.

Dear All,
Just a short note to let you all know that Palm Garden no longer exists. It is to be sold as private apartments.
I would like to thank you all for your support over the years. If you return to Ibiza you can contact me at this mail address, and i would be pleased to meet up.
Could you put this mail on a Palm Garden web site for me so that everybody i havnt been able to mail knows whats happening? Many thanks.

Kind regards.
Martin (barman Palm Garden)

Martin's contact and email address is:

Juana Weyham McClurg

This little gem is exclusive to the 'First Choice' group and an absolute treasure. There are only about 40 apartments that make the place small and personal. It is probably the cleanest apartments I have ever stayed in, the cleaners tidied the room and made the beds every single day of our holiday. Consequently there were no bugs, beetles, or any other little nasties flying around.

The snack bar provides good freshly cooked food although it can be a bit of a wait on occasions. In terms of value for money both food and drink are probably the cheapest in the resort (other than Uno's an off licence that allows you to consume your purchases on their patio and will even provide ice and glasses).

Martin and Vicente are both excellent ambassadors for the Palm Gardens, and whatever the owners are paying them should be doubled! What ever you want as Martin would say is ‘no prob-lem-a’. I can well understand why so many holidaymakers return on a regular basis.

The pool is of adequate size and depth for the whole family to enjoy, and there are sufficient sun-beds to go around.

If you venture out and about it’s just a short stroll to the beach, which had a gentle cooling breeze during our stay.

Do try out ‘Eddies & Rosies’ bar (turn left at Kopi’s and it’s about 100 yards on the right) where you can get some good old fashioned home cooking, and a welcome break from ‘chips’ every night. The kids will be made welcome, and the girls can play bingo.

Across the road the ‘Three Monkeys’ provide some good entertainment, and at the ‘Bar Stop’ the kids can play on the bouncy castles, swings, slides, and trampolines, as long as they want for 2 Euro’s whilst the adults can enjoy a beer on the terrace. The ‘Bowling Centre’ is not just for bowling (4 tenpin lanes), but has crazy golf, pool, a rodeo ride, fruit machines, bar, ice creams etc etc etc.

Whatever bar you end up in I am sure you will enjoy your evening.

Finally if you are self-catering use the supermarket that the Spanish use, as the prices are only about a third of the other supermarkets. Turn left as you leave the ‘Palm Gardens’ walk straight on past the recreation park to the main road (approx 200 yards) and the supermarket is about 75 yards on the left.

Try out the Palm Gardens and I am sure you too will want to return again in the future.

Thank you Martin and Vicente for a superb holiday, and should I return another year, it would be fantastic to see you both again.

Best wishes and kind regards

Andrew

From our room

We visited the Palm Gardens end of May/June 2006. 45 38 12 10. We had a very good time. The rooms are kept very clean and all the staff are friendly and they care about the guests on holiday.

The reception staff are helpful an friendly even at a 2AM check in.

Martin in the bar/restraunt is super star, and no nothing is a problem for him. He has been there for several years and he has it working like clock work. The cost of food is similar to elswhere in the resort but is generally better than most places we tried - so eat at the Palm Gardens to!

The location is good - just far anough not to sufer too much from any noise but not too far to walk to the main street and the beech.

The holiday was a second holiday just for a week and we would reccomend the Palm Gardens to any one.

Playa D'en Bossa was a bit small for us but was clean and in high season you could walk to the smallish water park or to the little fun fair.

The beach sunbeds were extortionate at 30 euros for 4 beds and 2 umbrellas so a lot of people sit on towels on the beac and buy an umbrella for 10 euros from the shop instead.
Over all Very good though

This was the best ever holiday I have been on. The rep. was great and very helpful. I am definately going back next year and I hope it's still the same rep. Thomas Harwood. I loved the apartment we stayed in, the maids were very kind and friendly.
You have got to go to 'Graham and Lisa's', 'Eddie and Rosies', and definately 'The Three Monkeys.' I loved the three monkeys, Carol and Frank who run it do a great job. Sharli who works there too is so nice and friendly, she knows what i drink everynight. I loved Franks band too.
I would have loved to stay longer at Palm Gardens because it was such a great holiday. See you next year, Martin, Tom and all at Palm Gardens.
love me xxxxxx
