Palmer House Hilton: In the loop by Eric Holland |
| Posted 13 January 2006 about a visit in March 2005 | Overall rating: 9.3 |
A grand hotel in downtown Chicago, taking up a block just inside the eastern edge of the loop. The hotel is a busy city hotel and the lobby is hugely impressive; I suggest at check-in you make a point of asking for a good room.
During my stay there, I found the concierge was particularly helpful in responding to my questions. Breakfast is awesome, probablt the best croissants I have ever eaten anywhere, but dinner disappointed. Our prefered dining was next door at Millers restaurant, though we did try other places close by.
Great location if you are travelling around on the 'El' or subway, though Chicago's stations are also close by. The McCormick Centre, Pier, Sears tower and John Hancock buildings are all either walkable or a short taxi ride away.
