Pan Pacific: Be amazed by Lawrence Vanrijn |

When i first entered Singapore, i entered the country with bad rumors of security, theft and other things. so i checked for the hotel with the right security, with the minimum requirements, and this is the place i chose. It was only a few dollars more then a hotel lacking these services and this hotel was cheaper then many other hotels.
So when i finally came into this hotel, i was unable to fathom it. I entered a huge modern looking building, to see a first view of a oriental breathing heavenly place. The inside was so spacious that it seemed to me that i was entering another city. the service at the desk was excellent. curious, fast and professional. within 10 minutes i was booked, and on my way into the elevator. which gave me a good view of the inside as i travelled up and up and up. The hotelroom was nothing like i expected. i had a double room to myself. However the bed was so large, that it would easily fit a family of 6. the room was spaciouls and the bathroom was enormous. with all the luxuries you would never expect.
But it would seem like a joke compared to the view outside. the windows go from ceiling to floor and the view you get on business Singapore is just breathtaking.
But i was there to see Singapore, not to ewatch it from my hotelroom. The bar had a decent supplly of drinks. cool air and a piano kept me there longer. I did not try dinner there, but breakfast was good. i did get the impression that breakfast seemd to be tailored to the businessman on the run, however a good supply of most things you can imagine for breakfast was available. including a english breakfast.
I cannot imagine that Raffleds could top this, and they are almost 2o times more expensive then the Pan Pacific. After all this time and many many hotels i still think that my stay in the Pan Pacific is the most luxurious hotel i ever visited and i will only consider this hotel if i return to Singapore.
