When we arrived in Lanzarote the weather was terrible. We had been told that Lanzarote only gets seven days of rain a year - well, I think we got it all in about half a day. Driving across the Island I had the car wipers on double speed just to see where I was going!
However, when we arrived at the hotel the clouds lifted in more ways than one. It is a large hotel but very spacious and airy. The rooms were extremely comfortable with a very well appointed ensuite bathroom, a separate sitting area and large terrace. Satellite TV, telephone and fridge were also provided. The rooms were maintained very well during our week and the maids were very pleasant. There are four restaurants but you have to pay a supplement for the French one. We did try it on one occasion but were rather disappointed and didn't try again as the food in the other three main restaurants was so good. The food was of a very high standard. There was always a very wide choice of meats, fish, pasta, salads, soups etc. Wine and beer were on tap as were soft drinks. Tea and coffee also available. The bars were also very comfortable and we never had to wait for a drink. There was always sufficent bar staff and we found the Green Bar to be very comfortable. Five swimming pools (two for children) of which one was heated and more than enough room for all. Also, more than enough sun beds for all so no silly getting up early to get your towels down! All the facilites and activities were very well orgainised and then after a busy day the pool snack bar opened from 24.00 to 08.00 for midnight feasts or just a quick toasted sandwich after a night out. All in all a very satisfactory holiday and we are hoping to return for my wife's birthday next year with the rest of the family. All the staff were superb.
