Visit again?
Absolutely not

First room the shower did not work. plumber did not fix . At my age baths are not the easiest things to get into and out of. We complained again and we were offered another room from facing the pool to one facing the car park. We did not mind as we thought we were getting a room in full working order. We packed up and moved only to find the shower in this room did work but the basin was full of water as the plug attachment was broken and the cystern did not fill with water. complained again and they were fixed. As we were going out the plumber arrived again and said shower! we tried to explain that it was fixed but he did not understand so we left him to do what ever he had been told to do.

When we returned we discovered the shower did not work again so it was necessary to have a bath. I, an old man, stood up in the bath and suddenly my feet went from under me. Fortunately, the bath was full of water and this protected me and I only hit my head on the wall. It was very sore and I got a terrible fright and my wife had I think a bigger fright then me. More complaints and an offer of another room but having had to unpack, repack and unpack again we asked them to fix the shower properly.

Having got that of my chest my next remarks are the conditions of ther reported promenade and public beach. It was more like a building site having to walk on rubble most of the time then finding it blocked off because of the work? going on and a lot of the time you were walking through the garden area of some of the hotels and to get back on to the road it was nessary to go through a hotel. The hoteliers were not particularly happy about that but fortunately a nice young lady took the trouble to show us how to get onto the road without going through their hotel.

Superb location just minutes from some lovely restuarants including Michael's, Za Za's & Les Amis plus a wonderful Indian restaurant.

About a 10 minute walk to "Bar Street" where theres even more nice places to eat, plus of course many pubs & clubs. Also its about a 30 minute walk to the Harbour, but dont be put off by this because it is a nice stroll in the early evening.

The Paphos Gardens its self has 2 pools, 1 situated in the main hotel area & another set back by the appartments, this is smaller & we found quieter.

We were allocated a safety deposit on arrival but im not sure if this was because we had booked a "superior room" but other people we spoke to never had this facility while others, also not in superior rooms also had to pay for air conditioning.

Evening entertainment, for thise with families who didnt want to venture far, was also very good.

One bad note. As quoted on here, we did hear of 2 rooms being broke into, away from the main hotel area. Local Police also told the people concerned that this complex was one of the wosrt in Paphos for this. Although we were doublely cautious we never had any problems ourselves

Paphos Gardens: A really nice holiday base but be warned....... by Sharonb

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Paphos Gardens.
Overall we had a really good holiday!!
We found the Paphos Gardens to be in a good location, away from the main road but within easy reach of numerous bars, restaurants and shops and just a 10 min walk from the harbour.
Rooms were clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful - we asked to move rooms on our first evening due to a faulty lock on the patio doors. They gave us a new room and sent someone to help us transfer our bags immediately.
We would recommend taking a Mosquito plug in the summer as they can be a problem.
The hotels facilities are excellent. There are 2 outdoor pools, a pool bar and restaurant, indoor pool, sauna, steam, spa (£4cyp per day for a pass and beauty treatments at extra cost), gym, tennis courts and an evening bar and entertainment. There is also a mini market for self catering guests.
The only thing that let this hotel down was the lack of safety deposit boxes. We would recommend calling in advance and reserving one. There are approx 200 rooms on site and only approx 100 safety deposit boxes in reception. Although we enquired daily, there was never a free box for us so we took to locking our valuables away in the suitcase, in our hotel room. However, on the last night we were unfortunately broken into and had money stolen.

Paphos Gardens: paphos gardens by Jillybird

Just back from a week in Paphos.

The weather wasn't brilliant but still occasionally shorts n t shirt weather (not bad for Jan).

Hotel has great location near enough to the town but far enough aswell.

Entertainment not that great but good pubs nearby where drink far cheaper.

All in all great holiday.

We stayed here in Feb 1996 and had a really good time.
My daughter was only 9 months at the time, but we had no problems at all. Staff lovely and friendly, and the location was not to bad. The appartments were lovely and clean.
