This was my first time in benidorm and I was really surprised at just how much I enjoyed it. We had a 1 bed apartment which was spotlessly clean but a bit on the small side for 2 adults and 2 kids. On the plus side it did have a HUGE balcony and air conditioning.

The staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly and from what little we saw of the Thompson's rep he was nice too. The pool is great, and again it and the area around it are kept spotlessly clean.

I knew about the €60 deposit from reading reviews of the apartments before we went, but many other guests didn't and it caused a fair bit of annoyance and delay to getting room keys. Not good when you arrive at 3am with 2 tired kids and just want to get into your room, but to be fair to the staff there this is a issue with the travelagents/reps, not them.

I would definitely go back to the Paraiso 10 apartments, they are in a really good area for families, quiet but not too far away from all the attractions, although next time I would try to get a 2 bed apartment.

I have been reading all sorts of bad reports on this place today, about the break ins and thefts. To be honest this is our 4th stay here, although there was talk about a few break ins (more so in other hotels than this). i never seen any sign of it this time nor in the 3 other times we have stayed here. although looking at the apartment door there was signs that it has been forced before. But to be honest if you are that worried then leave your valubles in the safe in reception, it is manned 24/7 so virtually no chance of grabbing ya stuff. I poersonally left my stuff in the safe in our apartment and found it safe enough.
We had a 3 bed apartment on the 13th floor (again). There was 6 of us an we never got under eachothers feet, The apartment has everything you need, fridge, freezer, grill, sep hob, microwave, and is set out nice, the balconies are roomy and have table and chairs for those quiet relaxing moments with ya bottle of vodka and a book. The staff are brill, very helpful, the rooms were cleanes 3 times in our 14 day stay, and cleaned well. although we did have to nick a few extra towels off the maids trolley while she wasnt looking, the didnt like parting with many. The apartments themselves are in an ok position, a five minute walk to the square, where the noisy clubs are, but if you fancy a stroll, a 30 minute walk would take you to the old town, where there are alot of great bars, as well as the gay clubs which we found very friendly and colourful. Eating out is cheap, and you got everything you could ever imagine on your door step. Try to keep away from the shop just around the corner from the apoartments its very expensive.
All in all A1 holiday, have booked to go back in september.

Nothing wrong here, anyone who has a bad thing to say about the rooms must live in an absolute palace. Was fairly quiet at this time of the year, had a good view of Benidorm from the 13th floor, the rooms are basic, the balcony was a good size, not far from the main entertainment and shops, I would recommend the Paraiso Ten to anyone.

Hi folks I have just returned from my third visit to these apartments and once again I had a pleasant trouble free holiday. Since my last visit they had reopened the bar again and updated the reception area. The staff were new and I found all of them to be friendly indeed it was a pleasure to see a smile whenever you needed to find out information from them. On reading other reviews about these apartments I was surprised to read some negative comments but then I suppose one mans heaven is another mans hell. On the of issue of slow lifts may I point out that on entering these apartments you will see four lifts two being for even numbered floors and two for the odd. the secret of accessing these lifts is to look at the indicators on the two sets of lifts which will allow you to see which floors they are on then press the button on whichever set of lifts shows the lowest floor if it is a lift that services your floor your lucks in if it is not then just go to the next higher floor and walk down the stairs to your floor.(this only works for you when your in the foyer) but to be honest I never had to wait any length of time for a lift on most occasions.

There were three of us in a one bed roomed apartment and we found it suited our needs perfectly and as with most one bed roomed apartments in benidorm they were what I judge to be an average size and if space is an issue I would suggest that anyone wishing to visit these apartments and the party number is 4 that they consider the two bed roomed option. The apartments are positioned behind the Caballero de Oro hotel or for those unfamiliar with this hotel, they are to the right and behind the Rio Park Hotel. For those that enjoy the views and are not scared of heights I would recommend that you request a high floor I stayed on the 21st floor which gave me excellent views of benidorm. The equipment in the apartment was more than adequate and looked in excellent condition but to be honest we ate all our meals out as food in benidorm is very cheap, hence only the fridge kettle cups and glasses were used, the balconies in these apartments are large and are sun traps as they get the sun practically all day long, I passed many an hour sitting there with a large gin and tonic and a book soaking up the sun. if I had any adverse comments it would have to be with regards the swimming pool I love swimming as an exercise and I found that I could not find a time of day where the pool was not chocker bloc with kids and their blow up lilos but what the hell they were on holiday too. on the shopping front may I advice that you stay away from the supermarket just around the corner from the apartments as they charge way over the top for every thing they sell, for instance a bottle of tonic was priced at 1.25 euro whilst from the larger supermarkets this same item was only 0.60 cents – half the price and as I said this over pricing was on practically every item we looked at. The john and josephs bar opposite the hotel ambassador is still one of the cheapest pubs to eat and drink in but keep an eye on what your waiter charges as some try to add the odd euro here and there when adding your bill up. Another good watering hole is the bar los Arcos which is on a corner just down from the Venus hotel a pint of san migel was only 1,20 euro and the measures when asking for say a vodka and orange were like they used to be where the waiter looked as if he would forget to stop pouring. I will end this review by warning you of one pub to stay clear of and its called - the dogs @!*$ – I had arranged to meet friends there on arriving I ordered a pint and two vodka and oranges the pint tasted sour and on tasting the vodka and orange it was like a glass of pop. When my friends arrived I went to the hatch to order another pint and vodka and orange but this time I watched the barmaid pour the drinks with regards the vodka I have never seen so little poured into a glass in my many visits to benidorm my guess would be that at best it was the equivalent of an English short. But what happened next knocked the wind out of my sails so to speak. She looked for a pint glass found no clean ones on the shelf so she picked up a dirty glass which someone had brought back to the bar and she proceeded to pour my friends pint into the glass. I will leave it to the reader of this review to visualize my comments at this stage and yes there were a few choice words spoken.

I end by making a comment on the so called muggers ally this being the dirt path that runs down the side of the apartments, this road is well used throughout the day and I saw nor heard any reports of trouble in my stay. I would suggest that visitors keep to the well lit roads at night and only using the track in daylight hours

12th June to 26th June 2004

A bit anxious about this place after reading reviews elsewhere on t'Internet, but to be honest I had no complaints.

The apartments are relatively close to the back of the resort on the Playa Levante side, but despite this 'The Square' (or 'The Rectangle' as it should be called) where all the tidy bars and clubs are was five minutes walk, and the beach only ten minutes. If you want to visit the old town, I'd advise a taxi for the less spritely as it is a fair walk, especially in the heat. The larger clubs (mostly inhabited by the locals), Penelopes and KM to name a couple, were five minutes walk in the opposite direction toward the top road out of town.

The apartments were basic but clean, maids were always on time (and obviously not put off by our collective laziness!), but what I would say is that with three lads it was cramped (two in the bedroom - single beds, and one on the 'sofa bed'). A safe was used at €1.50 a day for the duration of our stay, which is also a good idea. Although the apartments are quite secure, with double locking doors, it appears as if there was once a time when people could go in and try and crowbar the doors open (most doors I looked at showed signed of this, albeit probably a long time ago). We heard of no incidents of robbery in the apartments during our stay. Only thing that annoyed was that one of the lifts conked out during the last couple of days, and we didn't fancy walking down from the 8th floor (out of 26). Other bits and bobs there were internet access and telephones downstairs, as well as being able to exchange travellers cheques at reception for no commission. The deposit for the room is €50, so don't throw any patio furniture off the balcony (as happened in the neighbouring apartments at 3am during our last night).

The pool is shared with the neighbouring apartments and was clean and never ridiculously busy (sunlounger €1.50 for the day). There is also tennis for people who like running around in the sun (€4 for an hour and a €20 deposit).

The adjoining Paradise Corner bar is good - pool tables, reasonably priced, part of the bar has a retractable roof, pizzas and toasties served, and most importantly the staff were nice and friendly!

The only word of warning is the infamous 'Muggers Alley' that runs along the left hand side of the apartments. There are no burnt out cars lining it (as I have read in similar reviews). It is okay in the day, but any time after about nine or when it gets dark, don't go down there on your own, or even in a couple. Cheeky Spaniards pretending to be friendly and talking about "Raul!!" after hours aren't interested in football at all - they want to nick your wallet (as happened to one of ours).

Despite this, a great place to stay, and would definitely consider staying here again if visiting on another lads holiday.

Paraiso 10: enjoyable by Karen Hawksworth
Posted 18 February 2004
We stayed in these apartments with a late deal in december. There were 6 of us in a 2 bedroom on the first floor, the rooms were very spacious ,good sized kitchen
plenty of room for the six of us.
The bar is nice with entertainment now and again.
There is a supermarket just up the road but is abit pricey
If you go down the dirt track(left of apartment)Please
be very careful if your on your own at night the rep did
mention it at the meeting and by the next morning one of the guest had her purse robbed. but safe during the day. The Market is brillant got some really good bargains including an extra suitcase to put them in.
All in All not bad for the money we paid £500 for 6 of us for a week.

The staff were very friendly on reception and bar.We were told maid service twice a week, we arrived on the Tuesday, fist maid was Sat, second was monday...we were leaving the following day. Not a great place to stay !!!

Paraiso 10: Paraiso X - 26 July 2003 by Jill Baskerville

Just got back from staying at this block of apartments. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment which had a fridge/freezer (very handy for very hot weather for keeping ice lollies!) Separate lifts for odd and even floors, decent sized swimming pool and small pool for young children. They hire fans, irons etc for about 1.5 euros a day and they even have a laundry service for about 3 euros if you need it. Its situated behind the open air market. If you come out of the apartments and turn left you follow the dirt road down to the bottom and you are on the road where the market is held. If you just follow the dirt road to the next road down and then follow the pavement you are on the road straight down and you will hit the nightlife - Cafe Benidorm, Beachcomber, Bahamas, Lennons etc. If you go to the road one block down from the apartments there is a bar called Tommy's which is a good night if you don't want to go far. The bar attached to the apartments - Paradise Corner - is cheap too for bar snacks and drinks. All in all a good holiday just too hot!
