Tenerife as seen from Gran Canaria - What a view! Breath-taking!

Not a great deal to say about this nondescript hotel.

Two star!

That’s about it really!

Situated in a quiet cove there’s just 3 bars, 5 restaurants, a supermarket and a dirty gravel beach. If you like to do nothing all day but lounge around a pool then maybe this is for you! A few years ago I understand that there were great plans to develop a Marina and the beach had golden sands! Dreams I presume, or just an attempt to raise the property prices.

Our apartment was reasonably clean, and reasonably well equipped although smelt a bit musty. Most if not all were south facing with sea views. There’s a swimming pool with pool bar and a mini market in the hotel. This hotel has no life or personality what so ever.

Puerto Rico is a couple of kilometres away and easily reachable by taxi (€4-€5) or bus (€1.20) and there’s a wonderful beach at Amadores halfway to Puerto Rico.

This accomodation will only ever be used as 'AOA' as I can't really imagine they would persuade you to go otherwise. For that reason it's probably not worth dedicating too much time to this article which will probably only be read when all those AOA people have already returned home.

Would I go back? Not through choice, but happy to if very cheap.

Just back from a week's sunshine holiday (without the children) on a late booking deal via Teletext and local contacts with Falcon. We got the Club Paraiso in Playa del Cura.

This was our first attempt at AOA and boy, was it worth it!

For and all in price of £219 each we gained accommodation which should cost almost £400. Not bad!

This is particularly true as while happy enough with our allocated room, we asked the next morning for a change to one without any overhanging balcony above us which I had spotted and got changed to it, NO problem at all, and all very professionally handled.

Indeed, most rooms face right over the ocean, with near due south outlook, and the new one was perfect.Once the sun was up, the balcony got sun, which remained until 20 minutes or so from sundown. Hard to heat that! (sic)

The room was basic, clean, and ample for our needs, and while everything in Gran Canaria is on a hill, we were only a short stroll from local shops, (an excellent Spar and some good quality restaurants).

See the rest of my Playa del Cura information in the 'Overview' section along with some pictures I have uploaded (below)...........
