I booked our holiday online and so was very wary of what we may have been presented with on arrival!
We were very pleasentlyly suprised at the whole presentation! Our open plan kitchen was newly fitted with gleaming real granite work surfaces, all immaculatly clean, and with a healthy size fridge freezer. The bathroom was also new and very clean.
All the furniture matched in the appartment, and the balcony was a very nice set up with flowers on the border!
View was good, we looked directly on to the pool.
I loved the 1970s architecture, the layout of the hotel works superbly, especially with the placement of the sun in the sky. Both pool areas have maximum sunshine all day.
The sculped gardens were tastfully done, with palm trees. And it was wonderfull to hear song birds singing away whist sunbathing. Very relaxing.
Apart from the obnoxious scouse kid, most people were very nice. The pools were freeezing, but bareable. The cheese toasties were scrummy at the bar and the chilled beer was yummy Cruzcampo!
A wonderfully enjoyable stay, brilliant location- only 2 euros in a taxi virtually every where.
For a cheap internet booked holiday we had a very good experience.
For the blokes next door though it was a different story.
The appartment was generally worn!, dull and generally not as nice.
we couldnt understand that the room next door was so crap compared to ours! the worst thing was we both booked through the same hoiliday operator!
So why?
Was it just luck?
Our stay was brilliant, but for the boys next door, they would say a different story.

We were on top floor with great balcony view over Maspalomas and great front door view of local football stadium. Rooms were basic but clean, good maid service but lack ventilation, we didn't hear the road noise very much as we usually came in late and 'well oiled'. good pool areas and quite tame lizards to watch near the trees and bushes (not the wee totsy ones you usually find!) The staff are friendly and cheerful but the main pool snack bar owner was surly and tended to ignore anyone not Spanish in favour of his patriots. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the apartments to others be sure to visit the Yumbo Centre which has many good restaurants including Miramar and don't forget the Terraza which is near the apartments and very good value. Give the Chaperal centre a miss and in psarticular Wembly's which was dreadful.

Booked up through Sunset and went in May 04. Been to Gran Canaria before but first time here at the Paraiso. Me and my wife went and the apartment was big enought for us. Good kitchen area, beds OK and bathroom nice. Wife liked the bathroom, which must mean it was good! We tend to use the kitchen for just making light lunch but it had an electic stove. Big balcony and the rooms all seemed to have a view over the pools. Found the layout was good with, apart from one in the apartment going from kitchen to living room, no steps only ramps. Thought it would be ideal for those families with wheelchairs/prams. 2 pools on either side, so it means that most of the kids were on the other side of the apartments. Both parts had mini-bars (though we didn't use them they seemed busy) selling the usual fare.
Small store on site selling most of what you want including daily papers. There is a Spar just round the corner (is it me or are there more Spars on the island than pubs!)
The apartments are about 10-15 mins (walking) from Gran Chaperl & Yumbo and 25 mins from the Kasba however cabs are dirt cheap and depending on the time of day are about EUR 2 to 3 each way. Really is something for every one.
We really liked it and when we go back to GC we'll try and stay here again. Would recommend it to friends and family.

We really enjoyed staying there the staff and rooms were excellent. The only problem noted was the pool was too cold and the trees shaded you too much from the sun but i suppose you would be greatful for that in the hot summer months. The bar man manuel is great fun and he is so kind he runs about all day and is always kind to the guests. We would definatley go back someday
