We booked to stay in the Hotel Continental in 2*, we was told the only difference was no Tv or fridge. How wrong could they have been...The room was small dark,dingey,stinky,dirty,old, the bed was like sleeping on filthy sandbags, the bedding was full of holes and smelt like someone had died. The bathroom was horrid to say the least, the shower well I could spit more...the toilet was stained and stunk of stale urine,the light looked like it would electrocute your head while attempting to wash your hair, the light bulb didn't work either, never any toilet roll, so if you needed the toilet you was in trouble.(which was usually the case after a meal in the resturaunt). The balcony was a death trap, this was just about hanging on, so if you stepped outside on 2 feet you was sure to meet your maker. The windows were filthy, rotten window frames, just totally terrible. The room overall was like living in a concentration camp. The staff were rude, unhelpful, and at every opportunity would charge you for something or other. The Rep...WHO? I think he must have been served up in the resturant... the food was tasteless, sloppy , Ive seen better food served to the hungry and homeless( no disrespect to them) We didnt eat there, 1 serving was enough after that we decided NEVER again, The entertainment complimented the food, it was just as terrible, father and 2 daughters singing there hearts out... bless them, "welcome to the hotel continental" they looked as miserable as me after spending £400 on my holiday! The only good thing I can say about Bulgaria is that the clothes are cheap, which in itself is a blessing in disquise as the weather is like being in the Antartic ( suprisingly I had money left to buy clothes in between being ripped off) I didnt realise how many Germans took holidays until I visited Sunny Beach...dressed in SHOCKING swim wear, the German men love to wear there thong ! The bars in Sunny Beach are as much a rip off as the Hotel, over charging and billing twice for the same order. The nightclub Lazur is full of Germans and perverts ! Music was like a car alarm going off all night, Taxi drivers are a con. The only good thing about Sunny Beach was the beach....it was lovley, even tho we had to wear fleece's , but even this was better than sitting in our 2* squat ! as a warning to ALL other holiday makers AVOID thisd place like your life depended on it , as all of these comment sum up what kind of place this is.....HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!!!

My family and i recently stayed at the Hotel Continental. I disgraced to arrive and find that the hotel we arrived at was not the one we saw in the brochure.The hotel was run down, falling apart, and not a very inviting place for a family holiday. When we arrived inside the hotel we had to drag our heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs before arriving to our rooms. The rooms we acceptable, although could have been better as the " white " sheets where stained and ripped as where the towels, there was no air conditioning in the rooms so fans could be rented for 4 levs per night. Despite daily maid service the beds where rarely changed and carpeted area cleaned only twice durring a fourtnight stay however, towels where changed daily.
Although we stayed half bored we ended up eating out 10 nights of the 14 as the food never changed it was always chicken, pork or fish served in a different sauce every night.
The best part of the hotel was the pool and surrounding facilities although despite being guests at the hotel you where still expected to pay 4 lev for sun beds and umberellas every day. The pool was very big, and also had a childrens pool with a slide. there was a swim up pool bar was the highlight of the holiday as cocktails and Bg spirts where always buy one get one free!!
The hotel staff where appaling with exception to pool bar staff and doctors. The staff never seemed to be intrested in any of their guests and always used the excuse " i dont speak much english". threre was a supposed rep although we only saw him the day before we where due to fly home, so we had to no one to contact with any promblems i found this very annoying.
durring our stay we found out that the hotel was Known as " Hotel Beirut" by the locals.
i would definatly advise people to think twice before booking to stay at this hotel.

The photograph you see in the brochure,is the better side of Hotel Continental, these are the 3 star rooms.
On arrival at the hotel, it gave me the impression of being a disused correctional facility, I later discovered that the hotel is known locally as "hotel Beirut".The decore is shabby,light bulbs and fittings missing, floor tiles were lifting to a dangerous degree,cracks in walls and roofs are common.
The 3 star rooms are adequate, but the bed linnen was"tatty" with no air conditioning, fans are 4 levs per day to hire as are the poolside sunbeds.
Hotel staff are mostly ill mannered with a "couldnt care less attitude" and "I dont speak enough english" is frquently used.
We stayed half board, but after eating only 3 times in the restaurant we decided to eat out.The restaurant food was usually pork or chicken based and mostly overcooked and not particually inviting.
I paid £1100 for this holiday,it certainly was not value for money,there is no way I will entertain a booking with Balkan Holidays ever again.
Please think twice before booking a holiday to this hotel,there are many moreto choose from.

we stayed in the park continental from 16th june 30th june and it was a nightmare!!!
we booked with first choice sunstart and we booked 3*and when we got there we we,r put in the 2*wing which is absolutley disgusting and dirty and dangerous!!! i booked 3 adult beds and my daughter who is 5foot 5inches was expected to sleep on ywo pillows on the floor!!and when i complained to the rep (vlad) we we,r told this is what we we,r contracted for , so i argued from 10,00am till 2.30pm with him that i had payed for 3 adult beds and not 2 and two pillows and that is what i wanted he was not intrested and was only happy when people wer paying him to be put up in other hotels they tried to get £320 out of us to change hotels which he didnt get they expected three adults to sleep in a room that just about fitted two beds in we couldnt even get our suit cases in the room there was no room for them we had to put them in the bathroom!!! which was absolutley disgusting the toilet seat was broke, you couldnt flush the chain when you had a shower the water came in the bedroom, and the door was so damp it was black 18inches up where it was rotten and there was no door frame that was rotten away, in the room there wer ear wigs all over and the electrics we,r hanging off the wall, and there was bare wires and the door to the patio was unsafe a lady had her room broke in and she lost £600 they just climbed up the verander and pushed the door open and outside the room in the corridoor there is about 20 rooms either side of the corridoor(40 rooms) and the noise was horrific people coming in drunk ,and fighting, and singing at all hours, up till about 5or6am so we we,r always nackered!! the food was abismal it was cold and under cooked and we got there at 6,30 as it opened at 6pm and there was no potatoes left and it didnt shut till 9pm they never made enough food for evreyone, and it always looked like a plaque of locust had asended as there was food all over the tables that wernt cleaned, the pool area was at the back of the hotel(?????) and it was a rip off you had to pat 4 lev each for a brolley and 4 lev for a sunbed even if you we,r at the hotel , i had a massage that was brilliant i must say and the staff we,r brilliant especially the girls in the front downstairs bar that is fanny and her dad was the porter they we,r so helpfull and the reception staff as well i am sorry that i went to this hotel even the taxi drvers we,r apolagising for the state of the place so i beg you if you have booked with first choice sun start or first choice sun quest cancel your holiday and go with any other company exept this one it was a night mare from start to finish and we we,r pure ripped off by first choice""""" YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED"""""
