Ok this place is hard to describe and I am someone whom is good with words!

We arrived and at first glance my friends and I were pleased with our accomodation, HOWEVER we quickly realized that the floors of our appartment had not been cleaned since the previous occupents had stayed as we found small items of female jewellery around the floor, to give a description of what the floors were like - to the eye (clean), if you walk with just socks on or barefoot then the soles of your feet will be completely black with dirt in under a few hours!

I asked the Cleaner to clean the floors, she refused, I didn't take no for an answer- and she did mop our bathroom floor 2 days after i first asked and she said "tomorrow", the effort at mopping the floor was pathetic and she used the mop she had cleaned the communal stairway with!

The cleaners will empty 2 bins, they will change your towels if they are on the floor and evidently not fit for purpose, they will perhaps slightly tidy up the apparment and change/make your beds.

On one occasion the towells were removed and I was told that we'd have clean towells brought in 10 minutes, it was 2 days later we recieved them having had not 1 towell to use, this appeared to be a genuine error however its not really acceptable is it?!

The cleaners generally come round at around between 11.30am-2.30pm.

I had money and my passport laying around in relatively easy places to find at times and it was never touched however I did not deliberately do it and I recommend you don't either, I was informed by another guest that she believed the cleaner had stole a packet of her ciggarettes!.

I also generally stayed in at the times the cleaners came round so that I could inspect what they done, ask them to do the bits of their job they neglected and to make sure nothing was stolen!

I was in a third floor appartment (room no 315-3) so the one cockroach I seen in our appartment was due to the front door being left open! the balcony's on the 3rd floor are very difficult to access illegally without the use of a ladder or stuntmen! I do say however (being a joiner) that the front door could be kicked in or using a bump key. Both of those methods of entry seemed unlikely here though, the small windows did have a form of bars on the inside which would deter all but a stupid thief. The Security regularly patrolled at night and they regularly told people to keep the noise down and escorted people back to their rooms if they were in someones whose room was noisey.

If you are staying with friends and the friends wont let you in the room you will be told to sleep in reception and sort it out urself in the morning, despite the security guard being able to let you in yourself.

The TV's are pay-per-view and work at 1 Euro per 40 minutes I think! Please note that the channels you will or may want to watch (they are stated on sticker to the coin box) are not actually available. The channels are basically Sky 1, Sky news, BBC in some format, and a MTV channel which is often in german. the rest are in spanish or don't actually work!

The apparments are said to be exclusive to club 18-30 however that is not the case as many are used by spanish or what appear to be permanent residents!

The "safes" are located at reception meaning you pay a fee and you have to daily visit it. I personally wouldn't recommend them despite there being no obvious problems as the locking mechanism is that of a school locker and something which a clued up person could empty with a little know how and a bit of brassness!

The club reps are a mixed bag - Lee-Ah (spelling is different) is a rep without consiounce or shame, When we booked our holiday we stated we did not want to buy the "add-ons", this information was passed on by Barrhead Travel to the reps of Club 18-30 as we were quickly told by our rep Peter that he had to speak to the 3 of us about "something" , we thought it was strange we were picked out of everyone there for a private chat, he had to go elsewhere though and was replaced by Lee-Ah. She is frankly scum, don't let her kid you! She taken us to our appartment and came in with us along with some other "rep" and she proceeded to try and sell us the "package" for 200 Euro's.
Info - we had been awake since 5am, had a 5 hour flight, had arrived at around 3.30, had an induction talk and hadn't even sat in our room and she try's the hard sell!
my friends and I totalled 3 Men, one of us told her to "@!*$ off out now" he was that annoyed and she did not budge till we bought the foam party at 55Euro's.
She then proceeded to tell us that she couldn't give change of 60 Euro's and she would give it to us when we seen her and asked her for it, she continually fobbed me off! on the final day she bullshitted me again and I basically had to threaten Peter (rep) and he gave me the money, Peter btw is good however he'll put the ladies first in terms of guests!

There are 3 pools which appeared to be nice but my friend said that the filter in one couldn't be working as the water was still ( I honestly don't know how accurate that information is ). Personally I'd say they were fine!

There was room renovations during our stay which we were not warned about and they were noisey during the late morning early afternoon!

The reception seemed helpfull enough if perhaps not appearing to care.

Good place to be if you want to be close to the nightlife!

I would recommend that if you're English you may want to avoid this place, It has a Saltire on the flag pole outside Las Piramedes and no St Georges flag or Union Jack (Las Piramedes is joined up with these apartments). There was a good number of English there and northern irish/republic people there too. 1 or 2 Welsh were seen also. So its not like the place is Scots only. I mention this for anyone who doesn't like that idea of a 50-50 scots to english ratio!

The kitchen is 2 hobs, and a various kitchen utensils and crockery, a sink and a fridge.
the fridge may have a freezer tray however that tray did not freeze despite there being what appeared to be a massive block of ice in the freezer. Everything you used to cook/prepare/eat food was dirty and had to be cleaned!
There was a kettle but i wouldn't use it to provide drinking water or water for say a pot noodle!

The occasional prostitute will lurk around outside the hotel/appartment grounds so be CAREFULL not to be heavily drunk and alone, as she will take your hand and offer/do things you may not want or can pay for.

DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER OR EVEN USE IT FOR BRUSHING TEETH, AVOID ICE IN DRINKS ANYWHERE WHEN ITS NOT SEEN BEING TAKEN FROM A BAG,

The "ABERDEEN" Steak House just outside the back of the grounds Should be avoided, they will bring "complementary" rolls and butter then charge you a Euro for each one eaten!, a chair broke into 3 pieces when a girl sat on it and no member of staff came to her aid, and I'm not sure he even apoligised when he swapped her seat, I did however see him trying to put the chair back together with only his hands! Our meal was ok/good but the service, the name, are a sham. Better can be found!

The Shop inside the complex is conveinient but expensive so avoid if you can.

I could go on but I reckon you'll probably look elsewhere already, This place only needs a few tweaks to be a good place to stay and for the price we paid (£300 less than the brochure price of £800odd) I can't said we were robbed.

But I reckon in all honesty that if you want a clean floor, clean beds, towells, a safe box in your room, a free tv, etc then you should book early into a 4* or a perfectly recommended 3 star elsewhere!

Whatever your preferance this place is acceptable if your a very young adult!

By the way ask for a room on the floor of room 315-3, its the least likely to be, desturbed by noise or entered by cockroaches!

Hope this helps

Nearest stretch of beach

Having stayed at Las Pyramides before we found the apartment as good, if not better than the Las Pyramides apartment. It was good value for money and situated just to the side of las Pyramides whose facilities were available to us. The apartment had just been updated with a new bathroom and kitchen units. There were also new door frames and wardrobes etc. our only criticism was these had not been painted and there was an unfinished look to the apartment. We presumed this was why it was cheaper. The apartments had their own pool and we could see this from our balcony. The apartment is well situated for bars and eating places and a short stroll from the beach. The popular Veronicas strip is within easy walking distance but far enough away to not be a noise problem. Maid service was adequate.
