Pestana Village: Pestana Village - RCI exchange visit by Laura Lawson 1 |

Pestana village is ideally placed between Funchal town centre and the Lido area to the west. It is almost opposite Reids Hotel. A quiet garden resort set around a former colonial villa with good outdoor and indoor pools, a nice restaurant, albeit rather pricy, and friendly bars. Guests can also use the facilites of the adjoining Pestana Miramar Hotel. Local buses to Funchal, places to the west, and the airport stop close to the main entrance.
There are some very good eating places within easy walking distance.
Restaurant Terrace Da Ajuda (first turning right towards the Lido) early breakfast through lunch to evening dinners. Good service & reasonable prices.
Restaurant Ducouver and Restaurant Tipico Mar Azul (both aside Funchal marina past the port area). Good evening meals around 16 Euros per head.
Summertime (Lido area opposite Hotel Raga). Good menu with local dishes but rather more expensive at 20 Euros plus.
