Petros Hotel: A very acceptable small hotel by Janette Gilroy

I stayed at the Petros Hotel May 2005 and found it to be a good, small hotel.

Positive Points:
General: The hotel is surrounded by fields and olive groves on two sides, a busy main raod at the front and a large sprawling hotel on the the other side. The establishment although small, didn't lack facilities. Friendly, laidback atmosphere and generally speaking the staff were friendly, although I have to say I didn't see many of them apart from the receptionist/s and 1 dining room waitress. If you value a good nights sleep the hotel is very quiet, although the bar remains open until you decide to go to bed

Facilities: Included 24 hour reception, a reasonable size dining / sitting room, a good size swimming pool (with child facilities) with free sunloungers, a covered sitting area and a reasonable size pool/snack bar, which served a good selection of snacks/fast food at reasonable prices. Car parking facilities were available at the rear of the hotel.

Food: Bed and Breakfast basis only: Continental breakfast was served in the well positioned sunny dining room. Buffet style it consisted of fruit juice, greek yoghurt, cereal, fresh bread, butter, marmalade/jam, a selection of fruit, boiled eggs and cheese. Tea and coffee also available. I found it very acceptable and the fruit and yoghurt were delicious. The small pool bar served a good selection of food which was reasonably priced e.g. 5 Euros (about £3.30) for a pasta carbonara and a soft drink. Childrens selection also available.

Accommodation: I was in a single room which was large compared to some hotel rooms. It was nicely decorated, clean, had a TV, although only Greek programmes available, good hanging and drawer space and a good sized furnished balcony. The view from the balcony however was spoiled by overlooking a very large hotel which was immediately next door and there was quite a bit of traffic noise as the delivery access ran alongside that side of the hotel.

Negatives:
Out of the way of the resort and beach: It's a good walk to both
Overlooked on one side by a large hotel
Some rooms may experience traffic noise
Busy main road at the front

Overall: I enjoyed staying at this hotel and would go back. I would say it is more suited to mobile adults than families, as the beach and the resort facilities are quite a walk away and it can be quite dark when returning home of a night. The walk from the main resort area to the hotel borders the main road and whilst there are pavements here and there, pedestrians especially the eldery and young children (and drunk adults) could be at risk from very heavy traffic, especially in the high season

Petros Hotel: Great holiday at the Petros Hotel by Jackie Hunt

Taken Aug 04 about 10.am on a hot sunny day, heaven! Jackie H.

Hi everyone thinking of going to the Petros Hotel Tsilivi Zante.
My family and I spent a week at the Petros in August 04, and we had a great time! The hotel is situated just outside the main area approximatly a ten minute walk away, but a further 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach. The hotel its self is small about 40 rooms I think? There is a lovely swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers and a really nice snack bar/bar which is open almost all day, you can buy a burger and chips for under 4 euros if that's what takes your fancy. The hotel is bed and breakfast only, breakfast is laid out in a large clean and comfortable dining room/ sitting area, daily there was cornflakes, yoghurt, peaches, honey, ham, eggs, bread, tea coffee and orange juice which was a fantastic start to our day. Every day we had a maid come in and empty the bathroom bin, (you don't put loo paper down the loo in greece) the bed linen was changed every couple of days and new towels about the same. The rooms are nice we had a triple and a double room, all the rooms have air conditioning and a fridge which you pay for at the hotel reception, the fridge was really useful and the air con necessary in August.
There is no entertainment at the hotel, nice quiet destination for a couple or family, all the staff we met last year were very helpful that is why we are going back for two week this August.
We hired a car for four days and we were able to travel to beaches all around the island although driving was a little bit scary! We also went on a Zakfari trip which I highly reccommend, we went to places that we would not have know about, a really great day out.
