My husband and I went to Amsterdam in July 2006 and stayed at the Hotel Piet Hein for four nights, in one of the DeLuxe Sand rooms.
The room was absolutely charming, with large picture windows overlooking a charming courtyard, a smallish but immaculate bathroom, and the most divine bed I have ever slept in! !
The breakfast room is delightful and the breakfast buffet is copious, fresh and varied. The staff was charming and helpful.
The location is ideal, within walking distance of the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and of the Concertgebouw.
Hotels in Amsterdam are expensive but we got a good deal on the hotel's own website - it is well worth paying for the comfort. I would like to go back to the Piet Hein every year
