Playa Garden: Overall a good place to stay by Sarah Smith 1 |

We stayed at these appartments for 1 week. We flew with First Choice. Appartments have one bedroom then there are 2 sofas in the lounge which can be made up as beds. As we had a young child, we removed the top part of the sofa and placed it on the floor in our bedroom. No extra bedding available apart from the bedding already on the beds in the bedroom. Had to ask the housekeeper for more bedding.
Be careful to sweep up if you drop any food on the floor including on the balcony as ants will soon appear. If you get rooms by the stage, entertainment is laid on every night and can be very niosey, runs until around 11.00 - 11.30. There is a small supermarket beside the hotel but has most things you will need. There is an irish bar up the road that has kareoke a few times a week and this is brilliant. There are a few places to eat outside of the hotel within easy walking distance. Threre is another supermarket within very easy walking distance and souvenier shops.
The pool is quite nice (slightly cold but warms up after a while), but you have to get down there early to reserve a seat. Although it says not to leave towels on loungers, people do so they can reserve them.
There is an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
The sea is right opposite the hotel. Between the pool and sea is a bar that also does food. In the evening, the main restuarnt lays on a buffet which various every night. Some nights we did not think much of it, other nights it was okay. The puddings were nice.
The sea was nice and not too cold. Late afternoon it can get slightly windy bringing in pieces of seeweed in the tide. We paid for 4 sun loungers in front of the sea which came to around 15 euros. There were people beside us who had done the same. The next thing you know, these people (Germans) come and plonk themselves right in front of their sun loungers, spreading there towels. We could not believe it. So rude and inconsiderate. The people explained that there daughter was playing in the sand there and asked if they could move over a bit. They seemed so put out. I could not believe their attitude. Then around 10 more of them came and joined the group. Unbelievable, all the room on the beech and they had to plunk themselves there.
We had a car and were able to go exploring. There is a bus service that will take you to various towns. There is also a a market on a few times a week that is worth going to. You can either drive to it or get the bus.
When we went to the airport to return home, found out we were delayed by 8 hours. One word of advise, know your rights as an airtravel passenger under the new EU regulations. In Palma airport, in the departure gate lounge, there was a copy of these regulations on the wall. It made very interesting reading. if your flight is delayed by so many hours, you are entitled to compensation.
