Playa Moreia: BEST PLACE TO GO FOR A RELAXING HOLIDAY IN THE SUN by Valerie Thompson |
| Posted 12 October 2007 about a visit in September 2007 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
Love the Playa Moreya. We have been now 6 times over the last 10years. The hotel overlooks the beautiful beach with deep blue sea. We always opt for a balcony overlooking the sea but you can also have a one facing the hills. Across the road and you are on the yellow sands of Cala Moreya beach which is safe and clean. The hotel is clean and friendly with staff always ready to help. When I took ill a few years ago they rang the doctor who was fantastic and sorted me out. There is a good swimming pool and sun beds and large paved garden area which is also the venue for the evening entertainment until midnight which includes disco, spanish dancers etc and if you are brave enough Henriett will get you up to to sing on her special nights. We always book self catering as there are lots of nice places to eat, the Bar Antic being our favourite, sitting at our table beside the sea sipping tetley tea or sangria, with a massive menu of delicious food to choose from. The rooms at the Playa Moreya are baisc and clean with shower, hair drier, kettle, microwave, cooker rings, crockery and cutlery etc. A massive bundle of really clean white towels are delivered to your room as often as you want. Tele and safety deposit available if you want for a price. We didn't bother with tele. Give Henriette a ring at the Playa Moreya and she will arrange the flights and transfers for you.

Playa Moreia: would not go back by Eifion Daviews |

We are a family of four , with a two and six year old . There are plus and minus points about this hotel , here goes :
We arrived quite late ( 23:50 ) , at the front of the hotel extremely loud music was being played , fortunately this stopped soon after midnight . We were in a two bedroom apartment on the 7th floor at the front of the hotel . We had wonderfull views over the beach to the front . The rooms are basic but had everything we needed , the bathroom did smell but it wasn't too bad . Do not go all inclusive under any circumstance , although good value for money ( only 48 Euro's per day , children were free ) the canteen was a nightmare , it seems only Germans went for this option , who were extremely roude , have no idea of the concept of queuing and the food was very basic . After the first couple of days we ate out everynight . The staff were extremely miserable , probably due to the fact the hotel is now pretty much all inclusive and there were no tips to be made . Although the hotel was marketted as a family hotel , they had taken booking for large groups of teenagers and those in their early twenties . One in particular , a group of over 20 , they seemed to be part of a German soccer team . While their behaviour wasn't too bad it seemed a very strange booking for the hotel to make , one night the police were called as they were outside the front of the hotel until 4 a.m. make noise and casuing trouble . Most of the resturants are struggling , the resourt is becoming very popular with Germans so most hotels are offering all-inclusive . We did go to one called 'Bi Ba Bo' , go over the bridge at the front of the hotel , you get to it after about 200 yards , this was pretty much the best one we found . Do not go to the one called "Poker" , we were ill after eating there , also the owner tricked the children into buying inedible icecreams which we they left after one lick .
You will not get an early night at this hotel , they play music every night outside the front of the hotel until midnight , it is extremely loud , even on the 7th floor. If you have a room at the back of the hotel you get the sun from mid-day until it set's , and with no airconditioning it must be unbearable , our appartment was at the front ( for which you needed to pay an extra 10% due to the sea view )
This place had great potential , but unfortunatley it seems to be heading downhill fast . We booked it based on other reviews we had read , but it does seem that things have changed over the last couple of years . We wouldn't go back .

have just returned from here this week, had a great time lots of things to do. Went to the Safari Park in Sa Coma really good especially if you have got kids with you. Also try Tiggi's Bar and Bistro very very good place to eat just the right size of portion, owners also very nice and good with the kids. ( WOULD RECCOMMEND) this is the best place that we ate!!!!!!!! I think the only thing I would change would be to be in a hotel with air conditioning found it a little tad warm at night to sleep. Would go back.

just got back from here, 4th july 2004. anyone going here with kids need not worry, its paradise for them. there is absolutely everthing going off for them either on site or at nearby facilities. everthing is within 50 metres like fishing, trampolines, mini-golf, electric scooters for all ages, the beach and all the restaurants are decent but a special mention goes to tonis bar/restaurant just over the road who do delicious food. the apts themselves were basic but bright. i do advise people to take a few decent sized towels though (especially you women) as the ones provided were a little small and were only changed every other day. you got one each of hand towel and "bath towel" per person but i think they must have shrunk in the wash. however, dont worry, if you have a holiday here with family especially, you'll enjoy

Playa Moreia: margaret by Margaret Marshall |
| Posted 23 June 2004 | Overall rating: 9.3 |
hi i have just returned from the playa moreya apartments and we had a wonderful time. the apartments were very nice and directly across from the beach.
try buddies bar they do the best breakfast on the island it is not across the bridge it is to the right. ask for gary audrey margaret or lena they are all nice they do bingo and karaoke on a thursday night
do not book your trips with your tour aperator book outside in the resort as they are much cheaper.
if you go to western water park look for a locker as the tour reps do not tell you they are there and it saves you carrying your stuff. also if you go to marineland take swimming suits for your kids as we did not know they have a pirate ship swimming pool.
avoid the caves of drach they are a lot of rubbish. a must is the safari park in sa coma you get up real close to the animal,s and you can have your pic taken with a tiger.
overall this is a very child friendly resort and we will be back next year

Playa Moreia: Wonderful by Jackie Lawrence |
| Posted 07 October 2003 | Overall rating: 10.0 |
Have just returned from spending two weeks here & have booked to go back again next year. Apartment was lovely (could have done with two bathrooms-3 kids!). Location was brilliant, didn't even have to bother putting shoes on to get to the beach. Had wonderful views of both pool & sea. Staff very friendly, really made us feel welcome. Bar staff great-had quite a few drinks with them. Everyone sticks together & the entertainment laid on in the evenings by them was great-something going on every night. Would definately recommend staying here.

Playa Moreia: Surrounding resort centre entertainment |
| 06 Feb 2007 by Mark James |
We are thinking of booking into the Playa Moreia but we have two 16 year old daughters. Can anyone give us an honest picture of the resort, as the girls will want to go and do their own thing most of the time. The last thing my wife and I need is constant cries of 'I'm bored' !! >> Answer this question | |
