| Playa del Cura Travel Guide: 10 minutes and you've seen the lot!

Playa del Cura shopping | 1.0 | | A Spar Supermarket and a couple of souvenir shops. |
Playa del Cura nightlife | 2.0 | Three bars, Welsh, Irish and German (sounds like the start of a joke). Can't fault any of them, all serve good beer at resonable prices with nice friendly bar staff.
My rating of the nightlife relates to the number/choice of bars as opposed to the quality of the bars and the fun to be had in each. If you want them rated by quality then 5 out of 10 would be more relistic. |
Playa del Cura restaurants | 5.0 | Bistro 22 is the pick of the bunch, the servings are huge and prices good. Thats not to say that the others are bad, in fact they are all quite good in their own way.
The rating of 5 relates to the limited number/choice of restaurants as opposed to the quality of the establishments. For the quality and value for money then 7 would be a better rating. |
Playa del Cura attractions | 1.0 | | None, Nothing, Zero, Zilch. |
Playa del Cura day trips | | If you want a great day out I would recommend the Island Tour, sure it's a long day but some of the sights are awesome. Not for the faint hearted either, the way those buses are thrown around the corners is amazing. The tour guide's joke is that, "Its ok, we have good insurance. If a coach falls into the ravine, we get a new coach!" From the top of the Island we could see Teneriffe, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote! Looking down from the mountains to Las Palmas you can see the how the city sits along the beach.
It would be a dream to work in Las Palmas, 3.8km of golden sands, just a stones throw from the office! Lunch breaks in London just are not the same any longer! |
Playa del Cura History and Culture | | All the post cards show Playa del Cura with it's golden sunkissed beach, nothing could be further from the truth! The beach has long since been washed away and you are now left with gravel and rocks. Such a shame really because it obviously had potential. Whilst visiting I did hear that a number of years ago a Marina was to be built but this appears to have been shelved.
Putting aside the disappointment of the beach there is a small commercial centre with about 5 - 6 restaurants, three bars and a supermarket. Without the couple of Hotels and numerous hill hugging appartments you would be left with just a costal road passing from Puerto Rico to Morgan. |

Playa del Cura Hotel Reviews Andrew Wilkinson reviewed these Playa del Cura hotels...
| Paraiso Club review | | | It's just an 'Allocation on Arrival' hotel and location. | | Not a great deal to say about this nondescript hotel.
Two star!
That’s about it really!
Situated in a quiet cove there’s just 3 bars, 5 restaurants, a supermarket and a dirty gravel beach.... |
