| Went to pdi in June then back again in September. Had a fab time and stayed in the Barbados Apartments both times... would definitely recommend these apartments as they were clean and close enough to the nightlife. We were with Cosmos and our rep Martin was fantastic. To get to the Kasbah or Aquila Roja (Irish Centre) it cost us only 3 euros. The apartments are big and have two pools and a small bar selling food which is nice. All staff are nice and the grounds are well maintained.
There is a few nice restuarants around the apartments, our favourites being Barbados, El Duke and Brittania (Grand Chaperal - British Centre). You must try the steak at the Brittania- we had it every time we went.
At night, we went mainly to the same places. Outside most pubs there are "Info''s" who wear yellow jackets. At first they seem annoying but we got to know some and they are actually really nice. We went to Sugar- a small but great cocktail bar selling cocktails for only 5 euros or 6.50 euros for Sugar Baby Love which we would recommend. All staff here were friendly and nice. After here we would head to Saddlers in the Irish Centre. The dj was fab playing a range of music... mostly r&b then changed to dance music later. The bar man in Saddlers was lovely also.
Watch out for the African ladies who will try to put bracelets on your wrist while speaking to you then ask for money for them.
All in all we cant wait to go back next year, hopefully for longer, hope you enjoy it also if you go!!!
Been to Gran Canaria a few times now within the last couple of years. I think its great and am hoping to get back again next year in June, then maybe again in September. If your going, Enjoy!! |
