Prague Review: An opinion...

Well, went to Pargue as part of a large group and i was really scared all of the time. It all started at the airport. This lady who was stood next to me (not part of the group i was with) was smoking in the terminal dispite there being loads of no smoking signs. Anyway, this policeman saw her smoking adn told her to stop, she continued and he replied by bangin his gun against his leg in a threatening manner. Not a very good start!! Some of the people in Prague are so rude (not all though) and some barge past you when you are walking in the street.

Being in a big group we all travelled around Prague by the tram and underground. That itself was an adventure and it was one that i didnt really enjoy as you were thrown around and they are ALWAYS packed!! It is all a bit like London underground.

Prague itself is quite a nice place and the buildings, etc are really nice and the weather isn't as cold as i thought it would be. The streets reminded me of an American movie as they had loads of hot dog stands, however the weird thing was that you could buy a beer from the hot dog stands too. The Prezels were really nice, but i was very suprised that i never got food poinsoning when i was there. The resturants aren't nothing speical but they are all really cheap. You have to be really careful though as they will put bread on your table and if you touch it they will charge you about £5 for it.

The shoppping is really good. Lots of little market type 'unique' shops and plenty of larger high street shops such as mango, H&M and to my suprise, C&A!!! When shopping in prague there was plenty of good places to go and there was something to suit all budgets.

The nightlife in Prague is nothing to shout about but the best thing has to be the cheap alcohol, it was about £1 for a beer and about £2.50 for a bottle of wine. The only problem is finding a nice bar to drink in. We luckily found a sports bar that we drank in most nights, but most of the bars are in basements and so you dont know what your letting yourself in for until your at the bottom and you cant really walk out. Another thing about going out at night in prague is that there is so many strip clubs and they all stand outside and try to drag you in - I definately know now why so many people who are on stag nights go there!! I found that if you ignored them they just left you alone but some of the people we were with giggled and so it only encouraged them.

All in all, a nice place but you just have to be careful and keep all of your valubles in inside pockets and front pockets so that you dont get pickpocketed!!!
