| Praia da Rocha Review: Had a wiked time as always. | | Written by Tammy Deathridge on 20 Sep 2005 about a trip in Nov 2005.
| I've been visiting Praia da rocha for the past few years and i've enjoyed it every time i've stayed in many of the aparthotels such as Tres castelos, Sol flor da rocha etc. Sol flor da rocha being the last place I stayed in and have also stayed in before, the rooms are clean and spacious and good value for money, the rooms are cleaned every few days, the staff are friendly and helpful if needed.
For breakfast there's many places to go for a full english your a bit spoilt for choice there's the Ice bar, Jukes and plenty more or there's plenty of super markets that sell english brands. For lunch there's plenty of snack bar's up on the front and on the beach, Bar froggies is one of my favourites with the friendly staff and great food. If your an indian lover then The Taj is the place for you, my personal favourite is the Chicken Piri Piri place, if your a steak lover then Big red's is the place to go and for your sunday roast Oliver's is the one. The only problem is that you find it hard to get food after 10 but i'm sure if you ask nicely, Paul from Bar Sunset will fix you up a little snack for a small price.
The nightlife is great I feel the best place for familes is Bar Sunset as it's friendly atmosphere and staff will surely keep you happy the quiz nights are my favourite and curry nights are the best, there's the bowling alley next door so parents have no need to worry as there kids are safe there's an ice cream palour just up the stairs and snack's are available at the bar. For the teenagers around 16-20 there's Nicho which liven's up about 12 and finishes at 4 above that there's Katedral and there's also On the rocks, if you fancy chilling out the Manhattan Bar is the place to go there's a wide range of coctails and as you chill out on the sofa's your drink's are being made and are then brought to you.
The Attractions are easy to get to by taxi or coach there's: Zoomarine Albufeira, Slide and Splash Lagoa, Aqua Land Albuferia and plenty more, my personal favourite is Slide and Splash.
Up on the front there's plenty of shop's where you can buy clothes, jewellery, wine's & spirits, there's lots of stands eg henna tattoos, hair braiding etc which open about 7ish.
The night train is fun for the kid's and there are plenty of mime's about. The lucky lucky men can sometimes be annoying as the can't take no for an answer .
The beach is brilliant there's the quiet end where you can chill out and further up there's jet ski's peddal boat's, kayak's, water sking and banana boats and more, you can watch the beach football or join in with a game of volleyball or just go for a paddle in the sea.
Going back next week as it's a great laugh quiet cheap and just a great place to go, hope this help's anyone who is looking at going there and can't decide whever or not to, my personal oppinion is it's well worth trying because you'll sure to have a good time. |
